Gabriel Landeskog has looked rejuvenated this postseason, collecting five assists and recording at least one helper in four consecutive games. The veteran winger is thriving alongside Brock Nelson and Valeri Nichushkin while also skating on Colorado’s top power-play unit. With elite offensive talent surrounding him and the Avalanche desperate for a bounce-back performance, Landeskog is well-positioned to deliver another assist.
Kirill Kaprizov has been one of the NHL’s most dangerous playmakers this postseason, piling up 10 assists and 14 total points. The Wild superstar recorded two helpers in Game 3 and has registered assists in four of his last six playoff games. Kaprizov also had success setting up teammates against Colorado during the regular season, making this another favorable matchup.
Nathan MacKinnon continues to dominate these playoffs, scoring five goals in seven games and finding the back of the net in four straight contests. The Avalanche superstar has 13 shots on goal through three games in this series and remains heavily involved on the power play. After Colorado’s blowout loss in Game 3, expect MacKinnon to lead the response offensively.
Cale Makar has picked up a point in at least 57% of the on-ice goals in four consecutive seasons.
So far in these playoffs? We’re talking 35%. The Avalanche are piling up the goals, chances, and shots with Makar out there – and he’s driving a lot of it. He just isn’t getting rewarded.
Given how many touches he gets nightly, and the kind of minutes he plays, that is bound to change.
Kadri has recorded 15 shots on goal through three games, tying him for first among all players in the series. He is getting a lot of looks around the net and his presence on the top power play unit makes him a very strong value at this price.
Cale Makar has recorded a point in 57% of on-ice goals four straight seasons. His involvement percentage sits at 35% this postseason, a number that should rise promptly.
Makar has assisted in seven of the last 10 games Martin Necas scored, and I expect the two to combine for a marker in Game 4.
Mats Zuccarello is a shooting machine against Colorado, clearing 1.5 shots in 11 of the last 13 meetings.
