There are two main factors why I like the Over as my play of the night. Firstly, the injuries to the Maple Leafs' lineup are not going to be easy to overcome again.
The Buds rank 31st in defensive zone time this season, and I don’t think losing Nylander and Tanev will help with that statistic.
So more time in the D-zone should mean more ice time for their top shutdown defenseman, McCabe, who is already averaging over 22 minutes a night— a career high.
He’s also averaging 2.93 blocks per game without Tanev in the lineup.
Secondly, the Leafs allow a lot of shot attempts. Toronto rarely wins the possession game and has given up the seventh-most attempts this season, which leaves McCabe ample opportunity to get in front of their shots to block the puck and hit the over.
