The Boston Celtics took care of business last week, ending a six-game road trip in Sacramento with a win. They defended their home court over the weekend with wins again the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. Now 7-3 over their last 10, the Celtics have a tighter hold on second place in the East standings and are just two back of the Milwaukee Bucks with seven games remaining on their schedule.

The Celtics wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been incredible over this stretch, averaging 29 and 28 points per game, respectively. However, Tatum missed Sunday’s game against the Spurs with a hip injury. He’s probably for this week, and that’s relatively mild compared to the injury-laden season the Celtics have dealt with thus far, having finally just reintegrated their defensive anchor Robert Williams back into the lineup for the playoff ramp-up.

This week, the Celtics start at home on Tuesday night as they host the Washington Wizards. The Celtics odds show them as heavy favorites at home Tuesday, laying 11 points against the milquetoast Wizards. After Tuesday, things get tense as they head to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Thursday night. That’s the first game in a back-to-back for the Celtics, who must return to Boston on Friday night to welcome the visiting Utah Jazz. After the weekend, the Celtics have to face the Philadelphia 76ers, who would like nothing more than to steal the second-seed spot in the East, so the Celtics need to stack wins this week.
