I will continue betting against the Mariners until the reinforcements return from the World Baseball Classic. But there's more to it than that. At -120, this isn't a bad number for the Cubs to win straight up. Pitchers are getting a bit more stretched out, too, so Emerson Hancock should have more of a leash for Seattle, which will play into Chicago's advantage. The right-hander historically doesn't miss bats, as evidenced by a 15..6% K-rate in his career. The Cubs can knock him around for a couple of innings to get enough of an advantage that the win will hold.

Betting on the Rockies is not for the faint of heart, even in spring, but we're getting plus-money odds, and the penciled-in lineup has fared quite well this spring, with Jake McCarthy impressing as a potential leadoff hitter and Brendon Doyle looking much improved. Diamondbacks reliever Taylor Clarke starts, and while the surface stats were good in Kansas City last year, he pitched to a lot of contact. This Colorado lineup has more talent than we've come to expect, so I like the value here.
