Last Meeting ( Sep 30, 2018 ) Washington 0, Colorado 12

The Colorado Rockies have put a disastrous 1-12 stretch in their rearview mirror by winning six of their last seven contests, including three of four to begin their seven-game homestand. The Rockies look to continue their strong play on Monday when they open a three-game set against the visiting Washington Nationals.

Colorado shortstop Trevor Story extended his hitting streak to 10 games with an RBI single in the third inning of Sunday's 4-1 victory over Philadelphia, marking his fourth career hitting streak that has spanned into double digits. Tony Wolters has multi-hit performances in three of his last four games while Nolan Arenado has collected seven hits - including three homers - to go along with six RBIs and seven runs scored in his last six contests for the Rockies. While Colorado handled the team at the top of the National League East, Washington averted a sweep against the team in its cellar with a 5-0 romp over Miami on Sunday. Ryan Zimmerman answered a 2-for-20 stretch by belting a pair of solo home runs in the series finale to give him 999 career RBIs.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Jeremy Hellickson (2-0, 2.63 ERA) vs. Rockies LH Tyler Anderson (0-2, 11.00)

Hellickson recorded his second win in as many starts on Wednesday after allowing two runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings of a 9-6 victory versus San Francisco. The 32-year-old drove up his pitch count by issuing four walks for the second straight outing. Hellickson has split a pair of decisions in two career starts against Colorado, permitting eight runs on 11 hits in 12 innings.

Anderson is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Monday after being sidelined since April 7 with left knee inflammation. "It's a lot better," the 29-year-old told reporters. "The fact that I can walk is a big difference. It was bothering me to walk and do normal activities. Now that we got the fluid out of there, it's much better." Anderson owns a 1-0 mark with a 2.50 ERA in three career outings against Washington, although Zimmerman has gone deep to account for his lone hit versus the hurler.

WALK-OFFS

1. Washington LF Juan Soto is 0-for-7 in his last two games after hitting safely in 11 of his previous 14.

2. Colorado CF Charlie Blackmon is 9-for-14 with two homers, four RBIs and three runs scored in his last three contests.

3. Nationals 2B Brian Dozier has homered in two of his last three games.

PREDICTION: Nationals 4, Rockies 3

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
