The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers are set to square off once again tonight.
After taking the first two matchups, the Dodgers have held the spotlight in this high-profile NL West clash.
My Padres vs. Dodgers predictions are backing Shohei Ohtani to deliver on his total bases prop.

My Padres vs Dodgers best bet: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases (-135 at bet365)
Wednesday’s Game 3 features a starting pitching matchup between Stephen Kolek of the San Diego Padres and Emmet Sheehan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sheehan is a bit of an unknown. The 25-year-old is making his first start since 2023 after tearing his UCL and likely is on a short leash, so let’s instead focus on the more well-known quantity in Kolek.
The right-hander has been a solid option for San Diego on the surface with a 3.50 ERA across 46 ⅓ IP.
Dig a little deeper, however, and the foundation appears unsteady. He doesn’t make batters miss (17.3% K rate) and allows a worrisome amount of hard contact (sixth percentile hard-hit rate, ninth percentile average exit velocity).
The former Texas A&M product has been fortunate with a .279 BABIP (career .322) and 77.6% left-on-base percentage (career 70.4%).
L.A. has been hot at the dish, scoring at least five runs in four straight games, all of which have been wins.
An interesting thing about Tuesday’s 8-6 victory is that it didn’t involve much help from Shohei Ohtani, who went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.
He won’t stay down for long. This is a wonderful opportunity for a bounce-back against Kolek, who has a 1.92 WHIP and 6.46 FIP against left-handed batters.
Ohtani rakes against RHP (194 wRC+) and at home (187 wRC+).
San Diego usually has an effective bullpen, but it has been used a fair amount in this series as each of its last two starting pitchers has lasted only five innings.
The weather will favor hitters with a temperature of 80 degrees at time of first pitch and winds of 5 to 8 mph blowing out to right field.
Padres vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)
The Dodgers are hot (7-2 in their last 9) while the Padres are cold (1-5 in their last 6), but that’s creating value in the market. There isn’t as much separating these two teams as the odds would indicate, and L.A.’s pitching situation is in flux.
Dave Roberts has had to get creative with his rotation due to the sheer number of injuries they’ve endured this season. He’s used an opener in two consecutive games, so the arm barn is heavily taxed heading into a matchup where Sheehan is probably on a short leash after tossing 63 pitches in his last appearance at AAA.
These two squads are 7-2-1 O/U in their last 10 meetings, and the weather indicates more runs in the forecast.
