Matt Olson put up an .824 OPS and 16 homers in 257 at bats against left-handed pitching this season, and has a .764 OPS against Tarik Skubal in 11 plate appearances -- a small sample, but a sign that he can hit the Los Angeles Dodgers ace.

Olsen came up big in Game 3 against the Philadelphia Phillies, homering and scoring two runs. He hit this 2+ hits/runs/RBIs total in each of the final two games of that series, and I think he's an excellent bet to do so again on Saturday at up to 50%.

When the Los Angeles Dodgers picked up Tarik Skubal at the trade deadline, they wanted him as a postseason anchor. Skubal strikes out 30% of the batters he faces, an elite rate that should play well against an Atlanta team that had the second-highest chase rate in the majors (33.7%). I'm backing Skubal to hit his strikeout total of 7+ at 60% or lower.

Drew Rasmussen was simply one of baseball’s best pitchers this season, and he’s consistently had the New York Yankees’ number. The right-hander owns a 1.81 ERA with 70 strikeouts across 11 career appearances against New York, including 6 2/3 innings of 11-strikeout ball in their most recent meeting. Digging deeper, it only gets worse for this Yankees lineup, which owns a .177 xBA and .230 xwOBA while striking out at a 33% clip across 139 plate appearances against the Rays ace. Rasmussen also produced career-best marks in walk rate (4.8%), xBA (.227), and wOBA (.243) this season. The Yankees are going to have to earn everything they get Saturday night, and given their track record against Rasmussen, I’m not convinced they’re up to the challenge.

Gerrit Cole has gone under this number in four of his last six starts, and the Tampa Bay Rays are one tough customer when it comes to getting punched out. Striking out the least in Major League Baseball this season, the Rays also have the fifth-best team OBP. Simply put, they get on base. Only two players in the starting lineup for the Rays have a K rate of over 23%; Tampa grinds down starting pitchers, puts the ball in play, and looks to manufacture runs at all times. It's in their DNA, and it's why they've been so successful this year.

Misiorowski was one of my four pre-playoff World Series MVP bets, largely because of the numbers he can put up across multiple starts in a series. The soon-to-be Cy Young winner finished 2026 with 252 strikeouts in 174.2 innings, a 38% strikeout rate and a 37% whiff rate. That's backed by metrics that place his fastball velocity at the literal top of the sport. The four-seamer is the foundation, used 63.4% of the time at 100.6 mph, but the curveball adds another swing-and-miss weapon with a 44.3% whiff rate. Misiorowski struck out San Diego 10 times over seven innings in their earlier meeting and cleared 7.5 strikeouts in 19 of 30 starts. I believe this number is at least one full strikeout too low due to concerns over a potentially reduced workload. However, the adrenaline of making his playoff debut in front of a home crowd should offset any concerns about his pitch count.

Milwaukee Brewers' youngster Jackson Chourio gets the platoon edge and a pitch mix that gives him several paths to quality contact. Robbie Ray’s four-seam fastball and sinker make up nearly 50% of his arsenal, and Chourio has handled both pitches well, batting .331 with a .618 slugging percentage against four-seamers and .286 against sinkers. His overall Statcast profile includes a .265 expected batting average and .344 xwOBA. Chourio has overperformed those metrics for much of the season, and I've been fading him regularly enough to be well aware of that gap. Ray’s changeup and curveball have been his better run-value offerings, but Chourio has still posted a .310 average against changeups and .414 against curveballs. His .291 batting average and relatively low strikeout rate give him multiple-hit upside across four or five plate appearances.

What Is An MLB Computer Pick?

MLB picks are bet suggestions based on our computer's assessment of the game. Tons of betting data goes into a computer pick, including pitching matchups, injury reports, analytics, and even recent betting trends.

How To Use MLB Computer Picks

You can use the tables above to help with your bets during the MLB season. The first section includes free, computer-generated picks for daily Major League Baseball games. Baseball bettors can choose to follow the computer, fade the computer, or simply use our computer picks as one element of their betting strategy.

This page also tees up access to deeper betting trends. For example, if a club's run line is favored, you can check their ATS trends, potentially opening up some quality underdog bets.

If you're ready to get started with MLB betting, visit our dedicated page highlighting the best MLB betting sites.

Moneyline

This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.

It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.

Run line

The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.

The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.

Totals (Over/Under)

Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.

NRFI/YRFI MLB Picks

A new and emerging MLB betting market is the NRFI/YRFI bet. These are quick-hitters in which you make a wager on the O/U total of the first inning, typically set at 0.5 runs. Thus, the bet is coined as No Run First Inning or Yes Run First Inning. No need to wait a couple of hours to cash a bet when it could be done in 20 minutes or less.

First Five Innings MLB Picks

The above options, moneyline, run line, and Over/Under, can also be placed on the first five innings of a game rather than the full game. Many experienced bettors will use this approach because, typically, this will take bullpens out of the equation and make your job researching the game easier. After all, you can just focus on the starting pitchers.

MLB Picks And Parlays

If you want to combine multiple games into one mega wager, you may consider making a parlay bet. A parlay is when you pick two or more MLB games on one single betting ticket, which will increase the payout of your bet.

But it also comes with more risk, as each of those MLB picks must hit for your ticket to pay out. Our parlay calculator is a great tool to find out what your potential payout would be.

If you're looking for more MLB picks content, check out our consensus picks and prop bets pages to get your fix. While you're at it, head over to our MLB promos page to get the best bang for your buck.

MLB Player Props

Player props are a great way to hone in on an individual matchup for a game. These types of wagers will be individualized for a player: Will Shohei Ohtani hit a home run? Will Gerrit Cole get seven strikeouts? Will Paul Skenes allow two earned runs?

You simply choose whether this outcome will happen or not. Keeping up to date on daily pitching matchups and batters on a hot streak can give you a huge boost when placing player prop bets.

MLB Futures Picks

Lastly, prior to the season and even throughout the season, you can place futures bets on all the long-term awards and outcomes. You can lock in an MLB pick on who will win their division, which squad will win the World Series, or even who will win the Rookie of the Year, MVP, or Cy Young.
