Whoa there boy. A lot can happen in three years. Obama has done a great job in steering the ship away from the rocks. What a mess the GWB Administration left for Obama. A nightmare. We sure have come a long way, but still not outta the woods yet.

Going great. Economy still recovering. Stock market way up..Gasoline prices down. Unemployment still going down. Jobs are returning from overseas.
I think you should tell the people who have lost their employer sponsored health care coverage because of ObamaCare how great things are.
Really, I think that would be a fantastic conversation.
PS: There are fewer people working in America today than when Obama was sworn in. In fact, despite a population increase of over 80 million, there are fewer people working in America than in 1985.
I wonder if this thread was meant as parody?

Our GDP just came out today. about a half point off of what was expected. May not sound like a lot, but the equities bubble is inflating while the underlying strength of our economy continues to weaken.
Not sure you noticed the terrorism/ martial law in Boston recently?
Unemployment is down, but workforce participation is at an all time low. Don't worry you will see it soon enough when there aren't enough people in the workforce to pay your SS.
Troops are coming home, I am glad that Obama followed the timetable given to him to exit Iraq dont get me wrong. I would give him a pat on the back for that one. IT would be nicer if hundreds of people weren't getting blown up there every week. People are still dying in Afghanistan (in which we are apparently just sitting there waiting to get blown up or shot), because there is no objective. WE are counting down the days until we can cede power back to the Taliban so that they can continue killing little girls for reading books.
Iran/North Korea/Syria/Egypt/ etc. are all hotbeds ready to explode under the sorry leadership we have shown. (don't worry though), when the Muslim brotherhood decides to put their fist down in Egypt they have American (obama given) fighter jets and Aid money to do so. They have already turned their largely secular govt into a a reinvigorated theocracy. So there is that.
And if you are still going to point to GM and Chrysler as a success story, you will have to aim your finger south of the border, you know, where Obama's stimulus paid to have American jobs sent in the bailout.
Hillary is a joke, and will never be president. I sincerely hope that senile idiot biden is your #2 because he is without a doubt the most clueless man in washington .
2016 can't come fast enough.
I would vote for a tuna sandwich over these assclowns.

Reaffirming the results in earlier Heartland Monitor polls, most of those surveyed said the middle class today enjoys less opportunity, job security, and disposable income than earlier generations did. And strikingly small percentages of American adults said they consider it “very realistic” that they can meet such basic financial goals as paying for their children’s college, retiring comfortably, or saving “enough money to … deal with a health emergency or job loss.”
=Being middle class in Obama's America means you are worried about falling behind.

Right on cue:

I know she will get the "girl power" vote, and 47% will vote for her for free stuff, but the ineptness of her service in the state department speaks volumes.

For the life of me I can not understand how any American respects the leadership of Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Feinstein etc
The Dems are through when Americans wake up from their slumber and find out there are not enough doctors to deliver quality health care beginning in 2014.
I love the fact that the only reason the Dems want 11m illigals to gain status is to destroy the Republicans.
Basically we can go on and on about Liberalism. It is a mental disorder and it is the enemy within.

For the life of me I can't understand why people always put down Obama and the Democrats.. We are recovering from the great recession and two wars that the repulsicans have saddled us with. Their trickle-up philosophy did not work.
"WE THE PEOPLE RULE THIS COUNTRY" not the filthy rich who just want you to be slaves. But posters around this site want to keep feeding them, to their own detriment. It's ignorant.
Yes indeed.....Things are going great considering the mess Bush left. And yet you fools follow and repeat talking points of lying Fox news/Limbaugh like little guppies. They are making you paranoid and conning you into stockpiling weapons of war. So go bury them in your back yard, because oooouuu the government is coming to get you.

Canosoup here.
Here is the difference between liberals and conservatives.
Your "We the people" and my "We the people" have different meanings.
When I say we the people I mean all individuals, all 300 million, black, white, rich, poor, happy, straight, religious, non-religious. I don't think anyone should be discriminated against. The same rights I possess should be the same rights every other citizen gets.
What I don't want is for certain individuals to be treated different, either favorably or unfavorably, because of how much money they make, the color of their skin, or their sexually orientation.
When I say we the people I don't mean "The Collective." The collective infers we are all subjects to the govt. The founders left the old country to get away from that form of govt. It doesn't matter if that person sits on a throne in Buckingham Palace in London or at a desk in the Oval Office in Washington (or on Capital Hill for that matter).
I am all for individuals and corporations giving charity.
I'm not for the govt confiscating an individual's or corporation's money and deciding, for the greater good, where it should be dispersed.

The government should give handouts to people who need it. And if you look across the pond and at other European Welfare States.
They have been extremely successful aside from a few individual countries that have their own unique problems such as Sweden did in the very early 90s but is doing absolutely phenomenal now.. Italy suffering from an aging population, Spain the same... and others
But for the most part providing handouts and social welfare programs designed to create a safety net is an excellent thing. No one is disputing that. But what should be done is alleviating the poverty in the long run because even if the economists and scholars identified the US's relative poverty rate it is STILL SIGNIFICANTLY higher than European countries.

"Excellent" in that the US has spent more than $15 trillion on anti-poverty programs and the poverty rate is higher than when we started spending that $15 trillion.
"Excellent" in that Medicare & Social Security will both be insolvent in 10 years, and have over $50 trillion in unfunded liabilities.
But, but, but European countries do it!!!

Hey Soup, confiscating money ? Have you never heard of the Common Good, Commonwealth ? Taxes are for the common good. When tax is not enough, they need to be increased until the economy has fully recovered. Remember this, we have this big debt because two wars added trillions without be paid for. Just on a credit card. Also, people were out of jobs,..... so would you rather them starve until the jobs came back from overseas ? Think it though bud.

I'm not sure why anyone is bragging about Chrysler. Chrysler was bailed out so it could be sold to an Italian multinational company (Fiat has been seeking $4 billion in financing to buy the 41.5 percent of the U.S. auto company it doesn’t already own from VEBA). Why are you bragging about that?
Oh, and The government's decision to sell its remaining shares of General Motors (GM)
means the automaker's bailout will likely wind up costing taxpayers at
least $10 billion. If you include the bailout of GMAC, now a separate
entity operating as Ally Financial, that number could swell to at least
$15 billion
Why in the world would you brag about that?

No, actually we have a big debt because of the crazy spending binge Obama is on. The cost of the Obama stimulus alone is 2/3rds of the cost of 10 years in Iraq.
Stop with the wars nonsense.

First bold print means "The Collective". I pointed that out in my original post.
The second bold print sounds like "two unfunded wars." I've heard that a few times today. Did Axelrod call you guys together on a conference call?

I say we cut 'em all off.
Who cares anyway.
According to the threads I've read on Covers over the years it's nothing but "Red State Voting White People" with their hand out. I'm joining you liberals and agree with cutting them off now.
