The Boston Bruins return home from a short road trip to host the New York Rangers on Saturday night at TD Garden. Both teams are on the second half of a back-to-back after playing last night.

The New York Rangers are shipping up to Boston for a battle against the Bruins on Saturday night. These two teams are once again meeting with both sides on the second half of a back-to-back.
The Rangers are a perfect 3-0-0 in the second half of back-to-back sets this season. While the Boston Bruins also have a winning record at 2-1-0 in that same situation, their wins were much less impressive. They won in Anaheim after a win in Los Angeles, and against Columbus after beating Toronto at home.
Boston is also still missing a few key pieces. Pavel Zacha has been thrust into a top-six center role this season and he’s out along with top defenseman Charlie McAvoy. The Rangers are pretty healthy, though, and had a big bounceback win last night at home. They’ll also have starting goalie Igor Shesterkin in net on Saturday after Jonathan Quick played last night.
On the other hand, the Bruins started reigning Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark on Long Island last night and will be turning to Jeremy Swayman tonight. Both teams have solid goalie tandems so it’s not a huge difference, but it is worth noting.
There is some value here on the Rangers as road underdogs. They’ve shown a propensity to play well on zero days of rest and Boston is coming off a hard-fought game against the Islanders while the Blueshirts cruised to a 5-1 win against the Ducks.
My best bet: Rangers moneyline (+105 at DraftKings)

The Bruins and Rangers combined for 11 goals in their first meeting this season, but that isn’t the norm for these two teams. They’re both positive in terms of betting the Under with Boston at 15-12-0 and the Rangers at 14-12-1.
Scoring in the first period has also been a bit of an issue as the Bruins have 27 first-period goals in 28 games while the Rangers have 28 goals in as many games. What’s been impressive is the goals against numbers in the opening frame. Boston has allowed a league-low 14 goals in the first period with New York at 26.
It should be a good goalie battle in Boston with Shesterkin (10-7-0, 3.02 GAA, .902 SV%) trying to find his Vezina-level play against Jeremy Swayman (9-1-3, 2.07 GAA, .933 SV%) for the Bruins.

The Rangers' odds are getting longer after opening at plus odds. They’re now -102 at some books although you can still find +105 as of late Friday night. The Boston Bruins odds are down to as low as -118 after opening around -130.
The total has also moved down from its opening at 6.5 to six and there are even some 5.5s on the board.
