The New York Rangers have won both meetings between the two teams this season, but the last game, played in Carolina was a little extra memorable thanks to Artemi Panarin’s four-goal performance.
The Rangers have been on absolute fire lately, and it all starts with Mika Zibanejad, who has tallied five goals and four assists in his last five games. He, along with his new linemates, Artemi Panarin and Vladimir Tarasenko, have seemed to have form quite the chemistry. Panarin has three goals with four assists and Tarasenko has added one goal and three assists in the same five-game span. The Rangers are buzzing right now.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been nowhere near as good as the Rangers, offensively speaking, in this recent span. In their previous five games, they’ve tallied a total of 12 goals, the Rangers had more in their last two.
Igor Shesterkin has also seemed to have found his game. In his last three starts, he’s 3-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage. He’s on fire.
The home team is 7-2 in the last nine meetings and the Hurricanes are 4-22 in their last 26 trips to New York. This should be all Rangers.

It’s very difficult to bet against this Rangers team right now, as it’s firing on all cylinders. During their four-game winning streak, the Rangers have outscored their opponents by the score of 22-5.
The Carolina Hurricanes have started to struggle offensively and it doesn’t help that they are now without Andrei Svechnikov. The Canes are able to win games because of the way they play defensively, they aren’t necessarily an offensively-minded team, but they’re averaging 3.31 goals per game. If they’re going to compete with the Rangers, they’re going to need to try and score the first goal, then play shut down defensively. With the way the Rangers are scoring right now, the first goal certainly means a lot.
The Rangers have been able to get the best of the Canes thus far this season and they seem to always struggle when they come to the world’s most famous arena, this should be a game the Rangers win.
