Jonathan Huberdeau has been shooting the puck more often of late, and our NHL betting picks like him to test the Kraken netminder at least twice tonight.

The Calgary Flames hit the road for a Sunday night matchup against the Seattle Kraken. Calgary is coming off a 3-1 loss to Detroit last night.

Seattle has been off for a few days after beating the Sharks 6-2, so it might be an uphill battle in the second half of a back-to-back for Calgary.

My top Flames vs. Kraken predictions are looking at a Jonathan Huberdeau prop in my best NHL picks for Sunday, February 2.

Flames vs Kraken prediction

My Flames pick
Jonathan Huberdeau Over 1.5 shots on goal (-140 at BET99)

My Flames analysis
Jonathan Huberdeau has always been more of a pass-first player but he’s been putting the puck on net with some regularity as of late. The Calgary Flames winger had two shots on goal in Saturday night’s loss and hasn’t been shy about shooting recently.

Huberdeau is still under two shots per game on average (93 shots in 51 games) but that has come up a few ticks in the last month. He has multiple SOG in two straight games and seven of his last eight contests.

He’s racked up a total of 19 shots in those eight games and has 28 SOG in his last 13 games as well.

On the season, Huberdeau has gone Over 1.5 SOG in 30 of 51 games, including seven of his last 10 and 14 of his last 20 contests. Look for him to keep firing with Over 2.5 SOG worth a look as well.

Flames vs Kraken same-game parlay (SGP)

Jonathan Huberdeau Over 1.5 shots on goal

Nazem Kadri 1+ point

Over 5.5

Nazem Kadri scored the Flames’ lone goal on Saturday night for his sixth point in as many games. The top-line center now has 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) in 51 games this season, finding the scoresheet in 28 of those contests.

The Flames have struggled to score a bit recently but this Seattle Kraken team might be just what the doctor ordered. The Kraken have allowed 12 goals in their last three games so we could see another four or five-goal outburst for the Flames like they’ve had in the last few weeks.

If Calgary is going to get past Seattle on Sunday night, I’m expecting a big game from the top line and a higher-scoring affair with Dan Vladar in net for the Flames.
