Early Titans vs Cardinals spread pick: Cardinals -9.5
The Arizona Cardinals started the season hot with wins in New Orleans and at home against the Panthers. They put up 47 points across those two victories while allowing 35.
Those were two games they were expected to win, though, as 6- and 7.5-point favorites. In the last two weeks, Arizona has suffered two last-second losses on field goals.
The Cardinals put up a good fight on Sunday after falling behind 17-3 and 20-6. Kyler Murray threw two touchdown passes in the final six minutes to tie the game at 20, but Jason Myers nailed a 52-yard field goal as time expired for another heartbreaking Arizona loss.
However, if there’s a team to bounce back against, it’s the Tennessee Titans. They’ve been outscored 120-51 through four weeks, with their margin of defeat getting larger: 8, 14, 21, 26.
Arizona has yet to win a game by double-digits this season, but if there’s a time to do it, it's in this battle of the birds.
Early Titans vs Cardinals total pick: Over 40.5
The most similar matchup for the Cardinals so far this season is their Week 2 game against the Panthers. They were 7.5-point favorites with the total set at 45.5, and they came away with a 27-22 victory.
Those 27 points are a season-high for Arizona, but Tennessee allowed 33 to the Rams and 41 to the Colts before their 26-0 shutout loss last week.
The Cardinals have a solid defense, allowing just 18.5 points per game (fifth-fewest in the league), and despite the Titans’ offensive struggles this past week, they should be able to get on the board a few times in Arizona.
Arizona is capable of putting up most of the 41 points needed themselves, and Tennessee can come through with whatever might be needed.
