The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns meet on Sunday in Ohio, with the visiting side looking to get one step closer to the playoffs.

My Steelers vs. Browns predictions and NFL picks expect enough scoring to go Over this low total on Sunday.

Early Steelers vs Browns spread pick: Browns +4.5

When you look at the AFC North standings, this looks like it should be an easy victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

They’ve racked up three times as many wins as the Cleveland Browns (3-12) this season, scored over 100 more points, and are riding a three-game winning streak. Not only that but they are still pushing for the playoffs. However, the game doesn't always turn out the way it should on paper.

Looming over this game is a possible suspension for Steelers wideout DK Metcalf following an altercation with a Lions fan on Sunday. Miss him, which is looking likely, and the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers lose their most important player when it comes to moving the chains. \

He doesn’t just lead the team in receiving yards; he dominates it, with over double that of the next player on the list. He also leads the pass catchers in touchdowns and racks up targets. Who else will Rodgers turn to if he’s out?

The Steelers have covered in their past three games, but are 3-4 ATS on the road this season and 1-2 ATS when they’re road favorites. They’re missing their best playmaker and facing a Cleveland defense that ranks Top 5 in defensive DVOA and has the soon-to-be defensive MVP on their team.

Ironically, Myles Garrett is just one sack away from breaking T.J. Watt’s sack record, and that could happen in front of his eyes this weekend.

Early Steelers vs Browns total pick: Over 34.5

-112 at FanDuel

The Steelers have averaged 24.3 points per game this season, but as mentioned, they will potentially be without Metcalf. That definitely sees them downgraded, but this offense is improving, and they’ve put big numbers on the Lions, Dolphins, and Ravens in recent weeks.

The Over is 5-2 in games in which the Steelers are the road team, and with so much on the line, we won’t see them go down without a fight, so expect them to at least score enough to attack this total.

Only one team has scored fewer points per game than the Browns this season, but they’re better than their 16.4 average would imply. They have a young core, and while Shedeur Sanders isn’t a finished product, there are signs of promise. The line is also looking better with each passing week.

The Over has landed in six of Cleveland's last nine games, and this feels like a team that is ending the season well, and crucially finding some togetherness. While neither offense on show is Top 10 in DVOA, they're both capable of securing enough points for us to take on what is a very low total in this game.
