Saturday night’s alright for fighting... for the NFC’s top seed.

The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers battle for not only the NFC West title but the No. 1 spot in the conference in the late game Saturday.

My early Seahawks vs. 49ers predictions and NFL picks think the home side will come out on top on January 3.

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Seahawks vs 49ers spread pick: 49ers -1.5

-102 at FanDuel

Following an impressive shootout win over Chicago on Sunday Night Football in Week 17, bookies opened the San Francisco 49ers as slim -1.5 home chalk for this massive matchup with Seattle.

We’ve seen early interest in the Seattle Seahawks, with the vig for 49ers -1.5 dropping and some shops already at San Francisco -1 on Monday morning.

Seattle has won six straight and brings one of the best defenses in the land to Santa Clara on Saturday, which could keep this spread swinging toward the visitor. It wouldn’t shock me to see this line close at pick’em or even Seahawks -1.

The Niners have also won six in a row, but outside of SNF’s victory over the Bears, the rest of those wins came against some bottom-tier teams.

That said, I trust the 49ers offense more than Seattle right now. That is to say, I don’t trust Sam Darnold to limit his mistakes.

I’ll be watching and wait to see if I can get San Francisco lower later in the week.

Early Seahawks vs 49ers total pick: Over 49.5

-110 at FanDuel

The 49ers need to turn this game into a track meet if they want a shot at the NFC’s top seed.

San Francisco’s defense has been decimated by injuries all year, and this secondary plays a “bend but don’t break” brand that will give up gains. The 49ers have gone Over the total in three straight games and are 10-5-1 O/U on the season.

The Niners’ best plan is to score quickly and make Darnold beat them, hoping the Seattle QB continues to throw interceptions.

He has 14 INTs on the year and four in his last four outings. We’ve seen inconsistency in this Seahawks playbook, such as scoring only three first-half points in Sunday’s win against the Panthers.

The Seahawks could be down a major downfield threat in WR2 Rashid Shaheed, who has a short week to clear concussion protocols after leaving Week 17’s contest.

I like the Over on anything shy of 50 points for this game.
