Preseason second halves come down to quarterback depth and defensive execution. Minnesota boasts clear advantages in both areas, giving the Vikings plenty of value to cover against the Ravens in Week 2.

The Minnesota Vikings are priced as a 3.5-point favorite on Saturday as they face the Baltimore Ravens, who aren't expected to have Lamar Jackson under center.

While Kyler Murray isn't going to suit up, Minny's QB options and defensive form are more appealing, which has my Ravens vs. Vikings predictions backing the hosts to cover.

Who will win Ravens vs Vikings: Vikings -3.5

Kalshi probability: 48%

While both the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings used this week’s joint practices as the real work for their starters, Minnesota’s options behind Kyler Murray offer more value in this matchup.

J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and potentially Max Brosmer will likely share the quarterback duties Saturday at home. Defensively, the Vikings reportedly gave Baltimore issues in joint practices, and while we won’t see many starters on the field, that is still a promising sign as they look to slow down Tyler Huntley and Joe Fagnano.

The Ravens have a decent preseason quarterback setup, but Minnesota’s depth and defensive performance this week give the Vikings the cleaner edge.

Ravens vs Vikings Over/Under pick: Under 36.5 points

Kalshi probability: 51%

I'm leaning to the Under in Minnesota. Both teams have enough quarterback depth to make plays, but that does not always translate to touchdowns in preseason.

With starters expected to be limited or sitting, the rhythm between quarterbacks, offensive lines, and skill-position players could be inconsistent. That can make red-zone execution more difficult, especially when deeper reserve players enter the game.

I expect both teams to evaluate their depth. Unless turnovers or special teams create easy points, this game has a stronger path to stay under the number.

With Aaron Jones Sr. and Jordan Mason unlikely to play, Claiborne’s workload could be sizable against Baltimore, which helps his chances of scoring a touchdown.

Ravens vs Vikings weather

Weather won’t matter much for Ravens vs. Vikings because U.S. Bank Stadium is a dome. Outdoor conditions in Minneapolis look sunny and warm, but the indoor setting removes wind, rain, and temperature from the handicap.
