With Hamilton still down Bo Levi Mitchell, Chad Kelly and the Argonauts should be able to score enough on a rainy day in Toronto to cover.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats head an hour northeast on the QEW to take on their in-province rival, the Toronto Argonauts, on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (TSN) at BMO Field in Toronto.

With Bo Levi Mitchell still out for Hamilton, the CFL odds have Toronto as a -3.5-point home favorite, and on what could be a rain day in Hogtown, my Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts predictions and CFL picks are backing the team with the proven QB.

Who will win Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts: Argonauts -3.5 (-112)

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats aren't the same team without Bo Levi Mitchell. Since his injury, Hamilton is 2-5 straight up and averaging just 18.8 PPG. And though the Ti-Cats have managed to go 3-4 ATS in those games, they have crumbled on the road against top-five scoring offenses.

In their two road games against top-five scoring offenses without Mitchell, Hamilton has been outscored 69-25. So while the Toronto Argonauts haven't looked like a Grey Cup odds contender to this point, their ability to consistently score should separate them at home.

With Chad Kelly under center, the Argos are putting up 29.4 PPG and rank No. 2 in the CFL in passing yards per game (337.2). Against a Hamilton team that's averaging the fewest yards per game in the league (324.1), Toronto may only need 24+ points to cover.

Given the Argos' inconsistent play this season, I wouldn't take them to cover a bigger spread than 3.5.

Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts total prediction: Under 59.5 (-110)

The Argos continue to be given game totals that are far too high because of their hot start offensively and poor start defensively. But after hitting four straight Overs to start the year, with an average game total of 56, the books haven't adjusted.

Toronto has hit the Under in five straight games now, with an average game total of 62. This game total of 59.5 is still too high, especially with Hamilton averaging the fewest yards per game in the CFL and the second-fewest PPG (23.7).

Factor in the potential impact of the weather, too, and I have a hard time seeing either of Toronto or Hamilton putting up more than 27 points.

The Argos have the clear offensive advantage, and they've scored more than 26 points just once in their last five games.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Since losing Mitchell early in Week 5, the Tiger-Cats are 6-1 betting the Under.

Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts same-game parlay

Though Kelly has plenty of warts, he's a far more trustworthy QB than Tre Ford, who has as many TD passes as interceptions this season (3). To win by 4+ points, Kelly may only need four scoring drives against a Hamilton offense that has surpassed 24 points just once in its last seven games.

The Tiger-Cats' inability to score, on top of the weather and a game total that's at least two points too high, should ensure yet another Under for Hamilton, too.
