Packers Packers SNF computer picks

Jordan Love Under 242.5 passing yards (-115)

Projection: 219.4 yards

Any time the Pittsburgh Steelers defense has faced a competent quarterback this season, they have given up a ton of yardage. Old man Joe Flacco threw for 342 yards last week against Pittsburgh. Carson Wentz threw for 350 yards against the Steelers in Week 4, and Sam Darnold put up 295 yards through the air against Pittsburgh in Week 2.

Jordan Love, who is averaging 239.6 passing yards per game this season, showed that he can put up big numbers against a putrid pass defense a few weeks back when he passed for 337 yards against the Cowboys.

I’ll go against the computer here and say Love goes Over the number.

Josh Jacobs Over 64.5 rushing yards (-118)

Projection: 72.1 rushing yards

The Steelers’ run defense is middle of the road, allowing 115.8 yards per game on the ground. They should be able to bottle up Josh Jacobs, who has not had a 100-plus yard rushing day yet this season.

Jacobs does fine for an RB when it comes to putting up receiving numbers, but we’re only worried about his rushing total here.

I again will disagree with my AI cohort here. Give me the Under on Jacobs rushing yards.

Romeo Doubs Over 48.5 receiving yards (-114)

Projection: 50.2 receiving yards

Romeo Doubs should be licking his chops at this matchup as he’ll try to emulate what Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were able to do last week against the Pittsburgh defense. Chase busted out for 161 yards and Higgins added 96.

In Dublin a few weeks back, the Steelers allowed both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison to eclipse 110-yards receiving. Doubs had a season-high 72 yards receiving last week against Arizona, and I like him to land in that range this week.

The computer and I get on the same page. I agree with taking the Doubs Over.

Alternate-total bet
60+ receiving yards (+125): Doubs has gone Over 48.5 receiving yards in each of his past three games.

Tucker Kraft Under 52.5 receiving yards (-114)

Projection: 44.8 receiving yards

After a volatile first few weeks, box score-wise, for Tucker Kraft - he is now putting up consistent numbers. Against Dallas in Week 4, Kraft had 56 yards receiving. Against Cincy in Week 6, he had 43 yards receiving, and against Arizona last week he had 58 yards receiving.

This is a doable number for Kraft against Pittsburgh’s sub-par pass defense.

I’ll disagree with Mr. Computer and take the Over.

Aaron Rodgers Over 218.5 passing yards (-114)

Projection: 234.8 yards

The Green Bay Packers pass defense is not a sieve like the Steelers pass D, but Green Bay’s unit is not exactly lighting the world on fire either. The Packers rank 15th in passing yardage allowed.

It’s been ugly recently, as journeyman Jacoby Brissett tossed for 279 yards against the Pack last week. A few weeks back, Dak Prescott lit Green Bay up for 319 yards.

It’s a small sample-size but Aaron Rodgers seems to be locked-in during “revenge games.” When he faced his other old team, the Jets, earlier this year he was phenomenal. He completed 22-of-30 passes for 244 yards and 4 TDs. He had zero INTs and finished with a passer rating of 136.7.

Getting to this number should be relatively easy for a highly motivated Rodgers. I agree with my computer pal and will take the Over.

Alternate-total bet
250+ passing yards (+184): Good value here for Rodgers, who is trusting his receivers in Pittsburgh more and more with each passing week.

Jaylen Warren Over 56.5 rushing yards (-110)

Projection: 61.1 yards

The Packers have the second best run defense in the NFL at the moment, as they are allowing just 76.5 yards per game on the ground.

Jaylen Warren is coming off his best rushing game of the season, having racked up 127 yards against the Bengals last week. In his previous four games, however, Warren did not eclipse 56.5 rushing yards once.

I disagree with the computer, and like Warren to return to somewhere in his previous range.

DK Metcalf Over 59.5 receiving yards (-114)

Projection: 67.6 yards

The Packers defense has not done the best job with opposing teams’ No. 1 or 2 receivers of late. In the past few weeks, Marvin Harrison had 58 yards receiving. Against the Bengals, Ja’Marr Chase had 94 yards receiving and Tee Higgins had 62.

Against the Cowboys, George Pickens went off for 134 yards.

Metcalf has eclipsed 59.5 yards in just three-of-six games so far this season, but the computer and I like him to reach the number against Green Bay.

Jonnu Smith Over 26.5 receiving yards (-118)

Projection: 31.3 receiving yards

Jonnu Smith has gone over 26.5 yards in a game just twice this season, and barely. He had 27 yards receiving against the Seahawks in Week 2, and 28 yards receiving against the Bengals on TNF earlier this month.

Smith may now be the second tight end option for Rodgers, as well. Pat Freiermuth was targeted a season-high six times last week by Rodgers and the former Penn State star responded with 111 yards receiving.

I’ll go against the bot, and take the Under.
