The Atlanta Falcons have dropped five straight leading into their Week 12 matchup with the 2-8 New Orleans Saints on Sunday, November 23.

My early Falcons vs. Saints predictions and NFL picks are calling for Atlanta to snap the losing skid at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday.

Falcons vs Saints predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Falcons vs Saints spread pick: Falcons -1.5

-105 at FanDuel

The Atlanta Falcons have lost three consecutive one-possession games, so I like them figuring it out with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins having a full week to prepare for the New Orleans Saints

New Orleans QB Tyler Shough has only seen meaningful action in three games, and he was held in check by both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams before a solid showing in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.

With the Falcons ranking 14th in defensive DVOA and blitzing at the second-highest rate in the NFL with the second-most sacks, I’m expecting Shough to struggle again Sunday.

Atlanta is likely to have some of its own struggles on offense with the receiving corps missing No. 1 weapon Drake London (knee). Still, I like the Falcons leaning on the one-two punch of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier out of the backfield to control the time of possession and ultimately return to the wins column in Week 12.

Plus, the Saints have lost 16 of their past 20 games and rank last in the NFL in converting red-zone trips into touchdowns this season.

Early Falcons vs Saints total pick: Under 38.5

-115 at FanDuel

Atlanta leaning on the rushing game and being conservative through the air with Cousins is a major reason I lean to the Under in this matchup.

New Orleans also has an active 0-5-1 Over/Under record, and as noted, this Atlanta defense can get to the quarterback. Shough is making his home debut at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, too.

The Saints are also thin at receiver and average the third-fewest points per game (15.5), while the Falcons check in 27th with an average of just 19.5 per. As noted, New Orleans also turns red-zone trips into touchdowns at a league-low clip (38.5%).
