Joe Osborne is highly pessimistic about the Dallas Cowboys in their season opener against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
"I don’t think it’s realistic to expect the best version of Dak Prescott right off the bat. He missed the final nine games of last season after undergoing hamstring surgery, and in the games he did play in, he struggled. Dak posted a career-worst QB rating in 2024 and will now be tasked with leading this Cowboys offense against an Eagles defense that allowed just 16.6 points per game last season, and who also led the NFL in yards allowed per pass attempt. The Eagles enter the season on a 10-game home winning streak and annihilated the Cowboys by a score of 41-7 when the teams last met in Philadelphia in December of last season. Yes, Prescott didn’t play, but neither did Jalen Hurts."

Osborne believes bettors should be on the Under tonight.
"While I have no doubt that the Eagles will find the end zone with regularity, I don’t have the same confidence in a potentially rusty Prescott going against a defense that allowed just 16.6 points per game at home last season. As a result, I think the game stays Under."

Jason Logan believes Jalen Tolbert is worth a long look to find the end zone for the Cowboys.
"Jalen Tolbert is WR3 on this depth chart now that Jonathan Mingo is injured and should enjoy softer coverage with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens drawing the attention of the Eagles' secondary. Tolbert was a popular target in the red zone for both Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush in 2024 and quietly scored seven touchdowns last season, including the lone score for the Dallas Cowboys in a 41-7 squash by Philadelphia in Week 17."

Rohit Ponnaiya sees Saquon Barkley picking up where he left off last season in Week 1.
"Saquon Barkley is coming off an incredible year that saw him take home the NFL Most Outstanding Player Award. He rushed for 2,005 yards in 16 regular-season games before adding another 499 yards in the playoffs. Barkley scampered for 95+ yards in 15 of 20 games last year, and I expect him to get enough touches to eclipse that number against an awful Dallas run defense."
