2025 NFL Christmas Day recap
There were three NFL games between divisional rivals on Christmas Day last season, and the underdog covered the number in each.
Cowboys vs Commanders
- Moneyline: Cowboys 30-23
- ATS: Washington +8
- Total: Over 50.5
The Dallas Cowboys won outright, but the Washington Commanders were able to cover the number thanks to a field goal with 1:50 remaining.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott aired it out for 300 passing yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cowboys to their seventh win of the season, while Washington rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt led the way on the ground with 100 rushing yards and two scores for the Commanders.
Lions vs Vikings
- Moneyline: Vikings 23-10
- ATS: Vikings +7
- Total: Under 45
The Minnesota Vikings defense generated five turnovers from Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff — two interceptions and three forced fumbles — to pull off the home upset at U.S. Bank Stadium.
It was the third straight loss for the injury-riddled Lions, and their second-lowest offensive output during the regular season. Minny was able to secure the win with third-string quarterback Max Brosmer throwing for just 51 yards, too.
Broncos vs Chiefs
- Moneyline: Broncos 20-13
- ATS: Broncos +6.5
- Total: Under 45
It took a fourth-quarter receiving touchdown from Denver Broncos running back R.J. Harvey to secure the victory, as the Kansas City Chiefs battened down the defensive hatches to hold Bo Nix to just 4.8 yards per attempt — and a single 20-yard completion downfield.
The vanilla Kansas City attack was unable to cover the number, as QB Chris Oladokun led the Chiefs to 139 total yards.
