Bills vs Jaguars Weather & Odds Watch for Wild Card Weekend

The weather for Sunday won’t have much impact on the game action — at least not in terms of anything detrimental.

The Buffalo Bills trade the cold and snow of Orchard Park for the “Sunshine State” when they travel to Duval County to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Wild Card Round.

I size up Sunday afternoon’s forecast and highlight how it could impact the NFL odds

Here’s my Bills vs. Jaguars weather report for January 11.

Bills vs Jaguars weather forecast

Morning showers will clear, leaving sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s and humidity around 52%.

Winds will be around 10 mph SW with gusts up to 22 mph, blowing corner to corner at EverBank Stadium.

That's it. Don't forget your sunscreen.

How Bills vs Jaguars weather impacts the odds

It should be noted that these comfy conditions are the best the Buffalo Bills have faced in a long time.

Buffalo has played its last six regular-season games either at Highmark Stadium or on the road in other open-air, cold-weather venues. The last time the elements didn’t factor into the Bills’ odds was an indoor game at Houston in Week 12.

A clean, calm climate could benefit Buffalo’s offense, particularly the passing game, which has battled cold, snow, and wind most weekends over the past month.

The total opened at 50.5 points and jumped to 51.5 within minutes Sunday night. It has since climbed to 52 points at many sportsbooks.

With wind gusts barely getting over 20 mph, we won’t see much influence on the kicking or passing games. That said, Buffalo could be using a third-string kicker if backup Matt Prater can’t overcome a lingering quad injury that took him out in Week 18.

Due to that, the Bills were forced to go for two-point conversions on their final two touchdowns of the one-sided win over the New York Jets. Prater missed the first few practices of the week but is planning to work out on Thursday.

Given the nicer weather in Duval County and the Jacksonville Jaguars’ struggles against the run, I bet the Over 26.5 points on Buffalo’s team total earlier this week.

The Bills should enjoy cleaner, faster passing conditions, which they’ll need to lean on if the Jaguars can contain running back James Cook.
