The San Francisco 49ers snuck by the Seahawks, Saints, and Cardinals in their first three games before losing as a home favorite against the Jaguars last week.
The level of competition rises significantly on Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams, a team that typically typically takes care of business for chalk-players. Los Angeles is 11-4 ATS in its last 15 games as a favorite, with just one outright loss in this span.
This game sets up quite nicely for Matthew Stafford and the Rams pass attack.
Stafford should have plenty of time to work in the pocket, as the 49ers have struggled to disrupt opposing QBs so far this season. They enter this matchup ranked 29th in pressure rate and have just five total sacks.
San Francisco also ranks 25th in opponent completion percentage, and they’ve yet to face a passing game as dangerous as that of the Rams (fifth in yards per pass attempt).
Davante Adams, who's had 50+ yards in every game this season, stands to benefit from this matchup. His presence should be most keenly felt in the red zone, as he's tied for league lead in targets inside the 20-yard line.
