College GameDay is heading to South Bend for Week 10, with No. 4 Notre Dame hosting No. 1 Miami on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock). The morning show will air live from Notre Dame's campus before the teams meet at Notre Dame Stadium.

The unbeaten Hurricanes put the nation's top ranking on the line against a 7-1 Irish team with little room for another stumble if it wants to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. Here's what to know about Saturday's visit, the matchup, and how to watch, with every confirmed stop in our 2026 College GameDay schedule.

Why is College GameDay going to South Bend?

After these two teams battled to the final minute in last year's 27-24 thriller, Notre Dame is out for revenge against the defending runners-up with home-field advantage this time around.

Irish quarterback CJ Carr threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 35-13 win over Navy, while running back Nolan James Jr. needed just nine carries to pile up 107 yards and two scores. Notre Dame also held Navy to 56 yards after halftime, a convincing response to its loss at BYU two weeks earlier.

Miami had considerably less breathing room in its 38-35 escape at North Carolina on Halloween night. Quarterback Darian Mensah threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns, with wide receiver Malachi Toney catching two of those scores, as the Hurricanes improved to 8-0. Now comes a top-five road test that could reshape the playoff picture for both teams.

The matchup itself is also quintessential GameDay fodder: these two teams were fierce rivals in the late 20th century, and they renewed the hate last year with Miami's head-to-head victory in the season opener directly knocking Notre Dame out of the final playoff bracket. Surely Irish fans haven't forgotten that ahead of this weekend's huge clash.

Saturday will mark College GameDay's 13th visit to Notre Dame's campus, where the show's first campus broadcast took place in 1993. These are the five most recent visits, including the December 2024 playoff game against Indiana.

Who will win Miami vs. Notre Dame?

Percentages courtesy of Kalshi. For help understanding Kalshi probabilities, see our odds calculator.

Notre Dame is the favorite on Kalshi, one of the best prediction market apps, with a 64% chance to win compared to Miami's 36% win probability. Even though the Hurricanes enter with the higher ranking, the market clearly favors the Irish to hand them their first loss.

Carr should have opportunities against a Miami defense that struggled to get North Carolina's passing attack off the field. If James can keep the Irish productive on the ground, Carr can work beyond the sticks without having to force every big play himself. Notre Dame needs that balance from the opening possession, rather than another first-half scramble to find its footing.

If Miami wants to pull off the road upset, Mensah and Toney will need to keep the chains moving against a defense that settled in emphatically against Navy. Keep an eye on defensive lineman Marquise Lightfoot, too: his two-sack performance included the forced fumble that helped swing the North Carolina game. Disrupting Carr before he can set his feet could give Miami the extra possession it needs to beat Notre Dame yet again.
