Syracuse vs Miami Prediction, Picks & Odds for November 8 — College Football Week 11

It hasn’t been pretty for Syracuse or Miami lately, and both will be trying to sort things out against each other with offenses that haven’t inspired much confidence.

The Miami Hurricanes will attempt to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive when they host the floundering Syracuse Orange for an ACC matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams have been playing low-scoring games lately, and the Orange are struggling to score at all, which is why I’m taking the Under in my Syracuse vs. Miami predictions.

Read on to take a closer look at what to expect from this matchup in my free college football picks for Saturday, November 8.

Syracuse vs Miami prediction

Syracuse vs Miami best bet: Under 45.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

The Syracuse Orange are a complete mess on offense right now. Since the loss of starting quarterback Steve Angeli, Syracuse hasn’t scored more than 18 points in a game, averaging just 12.0 ppg in that span.

After last weeks’ 27-10 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Orange made offensive coaching changes, and while Rickie Collins struggled behind center, it’s unclear if anyone else can do better.

Last week, freshman Joseph Filardi – who likely has more potential with the Syracuse lacrosse team – went 4-for-18 for 39 yards in his debut.

Syracuse will have even more trouble scoring this week against a Miami Hurricanes defense that is giving up only 15.6 ppg and is simply more talented top to bottom. But while the Hurricanes should find more success on offense, it’s not clear that they’ll be able to run up the score.

Miami has been held to 28 points or less in four of its last five games. The Hurricanes are also dealing with some key injuries on offense, with both receiver CJ Daniels and running back Mark Fletcher Jr. potentially sitting out on Saturday.

Combine those issues with Syracuse’s inept offense, and the Under is the play in this game.

Syracuse vs Miami same-game parlay

It’s typically difficult to pair the Under with a huge favorite, but in this case, I think that’s our best play, as Miami should find significant offensive success while Syracuse adds little or nothing to the total.

I’m also taking the first half Under, as the Orange have been playing solid defense early in recent games before fatigue – from the offense not being able to stay on the field – has led to lapses later on.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
