After a stunning defeat that could eventually cost them a berth in the College Football Playoff, the 9th-ranked Miami Hurricanes try to get back on track as they host the Stanford Cardinal.
Stanford is coming off its own upset of Florida State, but the books aren't convinced, as they've pegged the Cardinal as massive 30.5-point underdogs in the college football odds.

Stanford vs Miami best bet: Stanford +30.5 (-115)
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Stanford Cardinal and the Miami Hurricanes.
Miami was stunned 24-21 by unranked Louisville, putting an end to the Hurricanes' 10-game home win streak. Now, winning out is almost a must if they want to get into the college football postseason.
They'll need a better effort from QB Carson Beck, who threw four interceptions while failing to record a TD pass for just the second time this season.
Stanford looks like the right bounce-back opponent, but the line is massive. While the Cardinal have yet to face a ranked team, their largest margin of defeat has been 28 points.
Their defense is Bottom-4 in the ACC but still inside the Top 100 in points allowed, at 27.7.
The other factor Miami will need to contend with is Stanford's running attack. The run game did them in against Louisville, with Isaac Brown rushing for 113 yards on 15 carries.
Stanford can lean on Cole Tabb, fresh off ACC running back and rookie of the week honours, after running up 118 yards on 28 carries against FSU.
They will be facing a Miami defense first in scoring defense in the ACC, and inside the Top 3 in both rushing and passing yards against.
Stanford is third in the conference in time of possession. If they can sustain a few drives and come away with touchdowns, with that deep bag of points given, they should be able to stay within earshot of the Hurricanes.

CJ Daniels is Miami's TD leader and second-leading receiver in catches and yards, and has a gettable 62.5-yard line against Stanford.
He's topped that in each of his last two games, including last week, grabbing a season-high seven catches for 74 yards.
Stanford QB Ben Gulbranson is getting virtually no love for throwing a TD pass against Miami, getting plus-odds to connect on just one score.
That's something he's done in five straight games. The Hurricanes' pass defense is good, but they've still allowed seven TD passes in six games.

Carson Beck threw for 271 yards in a losing effort against Louisville, the third time he's thrown for over 256 yards in a game this season. He should have another big yardage day, as Stanford allows a hefty 304.7 yards per contest, second to last in the ACC.
Mark Fletcher Jr is Miami's leading rusher, but the run game has been phased out in the last two games, as Fletcher has totaled just 58 yards in 20 carries.
With Stanford struggling to defend the pass, this isn't the game Fletcher finds his footing in the run game.
