The top-ranked Arizona Wildcats look to move to a perfect 20-0 as they host the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday.

My West Virginia vs. Arizona predictions expect the Wildcats to keep that zero in the loss column, while the Mountaineers stay inside a large spread.

West Virginia vs Arizona prediction

West Virginia vs Arizona best bet: West Virginia +17.5 (-110)

The Arizona Wildcats should be used to these monster spreads: This will be the 15th time in 20 games they've been double-digit favorites, and the 10th time it’s been by at least 17.5 points.

They’re coming off a crushing 77-51 win over Cincinnati, but that's more the outlier than the norm of late. It’s just the second time in six games the Wildcats have won by double digits — all in conference action.

The West Virginia Mountaineers aren’t in the same realm, but they're playing their best basketball of the season. They’ve also gotten acclimatized in the desert, smacking around Arizona State 75-63 last game.

That gives them four wins in their last five games — all in Big 12 play — with three by double digits.

While the Mountaineers struggle to score, they bring a stellar defense to the table, allowing just 63.1 points per game.

Arizona has failed to cover the spread in two of its last three, in games with Arizona State and UCF. Those are two teams with a combined four wins in Big 12 action, and both are below WVU in the conference standings.

I think the Mountaineers' defense keeps this one close enough to cover.
