A weekend winter storm snarled travel plans and forced Tuesday's Tennessee vs. Georgia game to be pushed to today, but the SEC’s top defensive team is now in Athens, ready to roll against the league’s top offense.

My Tennessee vs. Georgia predictions and college basketball picks expect the Vols to get a win as road dogs on January 28.

Tennessee vs Georgia prediction

Tennessee vs Georgia best bet: Tennessee moneyline (-105)

Both teams have found the going tough in SEC play. Georgia has split its last six games, while Tennessee has alternated wins and losses over the same span and covered just two of them.

However, there is some good news for the Vols, as Jalen Carey — who is third on the team in scoring and tied for the rebounding lead — is probable tonight after leaving last game with a knee injury.

The extra day off due to the weather should help Carey immensely, who will play a big part in helping Tennessee win the battle on the boards.

Georgia plays the second-fastest tempo in the country, but Tennessee coach Rick Barnes’ physical defense will be able to slow the Dawgs.

The work on the glass will also play a big factor. The Volunteers rank eighth in the nation in boards per game, but they also rank fourth in offensive rpg. Sustaining possessions will keep UGA on the defensive side of the floor, and Tennessee will cash in enough points to pull out the road win.

Tennessee vs Georgia same-game parlay

Georgia has struggled to force turnovers in SEC play after bullying mid-major non-conference foes. The Dawgs have had one turnover rate over 20% in the last seven games, and the lack of transition offense will severely limit them against this stout Vols' defense.

No one symbolizes Georgia’s struggles in SEC play more than Cain. After scoring in double figures in all 13 non-conference games and averaging 15.7 points, he’s done it in just three of seven SEC games and is averaging 9.6.
