The Indiana Hoosiers conclude a two-game visit to Los Angeles with a matchup against the USC Trojans on Tuesday night.

After a double-overtime thriller two days ago, the Hoosiers enter this contest in a difficult scheduling spot, which is why my Indiana vs. USC predictions back the home side in the first half.

Indiana vs USC prediction

Indiana vs USC best bet: USC +0.5 — 1H (-125)

The Indiana Hoosiers gave it their all on Saturday, pulling off a 98-97 win over UCLA in double overtime. There may be some tired legs as three different starters (Nick Dorn, Tucker DeVries, Lamar Wilkerson) played at least 43 minutes, with Conor Enright logging another 39

Darian DeVries is running a thin rotation as starting guard Tayton Conerway and his 25.7 minutes per game have missed the last several contests. This squad has had its fair share of troubles on the road anyway, ranking 338th in Haslametrics’ Away From Home metric.

Contrast that with the USC Trojans, who remain at home after Saturday’s victory over Rutgers. This isn’t the most fearsome roster that Los Angeles has ever seen, but it’s an advantageous scheduling spot for a team that has covered five of its last seven games.

There was an adjustment period after losing star guard and leading scorer Rodney Rice (20.3 ppg), and prized recruit Alijah Arenas wasn’t in the rotation until recently after an offseason injury. Arenas is now back healthy, and the rest of the roster has figured out their new roles to compensate for Rice’s absence.

Give me the home team in an advantageous scheduling spot to cover the first half.

Indiana vs USC same-game parlay

The Trojans hang their hat on the defensive end, ranking 29th in adjusted efficiency since January 1 (per BartTorvik). The Under therefore correlates with a Trojans' cover, especially against a jump-shooting team with tired legs.

Both teams have been trending to the Under: Indiana 2-9 O/U in its last 11 road games, and USC is 3-6 O/U in its last nine overall.

Indiana vs USC SGP

Our beyond the arc SGP: Schedule spot, worth a shot

Let’s go all in with the scheduling spot angle and back the Trojans for the full game as well. The Trojans were thrown in the dumpster by oddsmakers after losing Rice, but they’ve responded by going 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as an undervalued asset.
