The No. 6 Duke Blue Devils welcome the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to Cameron Indoor Stadium on New Year's Eve.

The Blue Devils are massive 27.5-point favorites, but my Duke vs. Georgia Tech predictions are taking the points with the visitors.

Here are my best free college basketball picks for this ACC clash on Wednesday, December 31, with tip-off at 4:00 p.m. ET on ACC Network.

Georgia Tech vs Duke prediction

Georgia Tech vs Duke best bet: Georgia Tech +27.5 (-110)

The Duke Blue Devils are a national title contender, but this is too many points to spot a conference opponent. Especially a team like the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who play solid defense and have the size to not get steam-rolled in the interior.

With five-star freshman center Mouhamed Sylla (11.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.3 bpg) and 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward Baye Ndongo (12.1 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.2 bpg), Georgia Tech does a solid job competing on the glass and protecting the rim.

The Yellow Jackets are also 30th in the country in 3-point defense (29.3%), and they attempt threes at an extremely low rate themselves, so their offensive production is less volatile.

The Blue Devils' talent and popularity can lead to skewed lines due to public bettors. They are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games while going 2-5 ATS in the previous seven meetings between these conference foes.

Georgia Tech vs Duke same-game parlay

Senior Kowacie Reeves Jr. leads Georgia Tech with 15.4 points per game on 43/40/80 shooting splits. He's coming off an 11-point performance, but that came in just 23 minutes in a blowout victory against Florida A&M.

He had dropped at least 20 points in his previous four games, and while his efficiency will decline against Duke, his shooting volume should surge.

Duke forward Cameron Boozer is the Wooden Award favorite and is averaging 23.3 ppg, 10.0 rpg, and 4.0 apg. That said, we're seeing inflated props for Boozer when you consider that he might play fewer minutes than usual if Duke gets up big early.

Boozer has dropped fewer than 4.5 dimes in five of his previous seven contests while going below this number in three straight games where Duke won by more than 15 points.
