It's been a disappointing season for the Baylor Bears and that will continue in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament against a Sun Devils squad that's been competitive lately.

The Big 12 Tournament begins with a clash between the Baylor Bears and Arizona State Sun Devils this afternoon.

The Sun Devils finished one game above the Bears in the conference standings, and my Arizona State vs. Baylor predictions expect them to cover as underdogs.

Here are my college basketball picks for March 10.

Arizona State vs Baylor prediction

Arizona State vs Baylor best bet

Arizona State vs Baylor best bet: Arizona State +4 (-110)

The Arizona State Sun Devils are 9-3 against the spread over their last 12, with wins against Cincinnati, Texas Tech, and Kansas.

The Baylor Bears beat ASU 73-68 last month, but that was in Waco where they had a sizzling 65.7 eFG%. Since they shoot significantly worse in away games (48.3 eFG%) than at home (59.3 eFG%), expect regression today.

The Bears rank 15th in conference play in turnover rate, which is bad news against an ASU squad sitting fourth in opponent TO rate.

The Sun Devils also have the advantage inside, where they can exploit Baylor's lack of size.

Arizona State vs Baylor same-game parlay

The Sun Devils are led by guard Moe Odum, who averages 17.1 points per game on 41/39/83 shooting splits. He's knocked down more than 2.5 threes in 11 of his last 12 games, and Baylor ranks just 271st in the country in opponent 3-point percentage (35.5%).

Since the start of February, Baylor has been dead last in the conference in opponent 2-point percentage (57.3%). That sets up nicely for 6-foot-11 forward Santiago Trouet, who has cleared 7.5 points in six of his last 10 games.

Arizona State vs Baylor SGP

  • Arizona State +4
  • Moe Odum Over 2.5 threes
  • Santiago Trouet Over 7.5 points

Our beyond the arc SGP: Sun Devils rise

Baylor has a puny lineup with subpar 6-foot-9 center Caden Powell being the only starter taller than 6-foot-5. So let's bet on ASU to control the paint and back 7-foot-1 center Massamba Diop to eclipse his rebounds, helping the Sun Devils win outright.

Arizona State vs Baylor SGP

  • Arizona State moneyline
  • Moe Odum Over 2.5 threes
  • Santiago Trouet Over 7.5 points
  • Massamba Diop Over 6.5 rebounds

Arizona State vs Baylor odds

  • Spread: Arizona State +4 | Baylor -4
  • Moneyline: Arizona State +155 | Baylor -185
  • Over/Under: Over 154.5 | Under 154.5
