Today’s NBA Player Prop Picks: Sabonis Fills It Up, Maxey Stays Hot From Deep

Today's trio of NBA daily player props is highlighted by Domantas Sabonis, who we're backing to go Over 17.5 rebounds + assists, and Tyrese Maxey, who should stay red hot from deep against Chicago. We break it all down below.

Let’s tip off the week with some winners in the NBA player prop market and with eight games on the board, there is no shortage of betting value to be found.

Today, we look to benefit from another aspect of James Harden’s effect on his new 76ers teammates, and will Domantas Sabonis continue to do it all for the Kings when they host the scuffling Knicks.

Check out our NBA player prop picks for Monday, March 7, as we bank on some of the NBA's best to do their thing.

Today’s best NBA player props

To the Maxey

James Harden’s ball dominating ways were sure to have some effects on his new Philadelphia 76ers teammates, but second-year guard Tyrese Maxey has shown he can make the Sixers dynamic duo a terrific trio. That trio will look to keep rolling when the 76ers host the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.

Maxey has been a fantastic fit next to Harden and Joel Embiid. But Harden in particular has opened things up for Maxey. The guard has averaged 26.8 points per game while shooting a ridiculous 64.9% from the field in the four games where he has suited up next to Harden.

Harden’s presence has given Maxey a bunch of open looks from beyond the arc, and he has taken advantage. With Harden in the lineup, Maxey has been making it rain, going 14-20 from 3-point range (70%).

Maxey has hit at least two threes in each of his last five games and after Harden got a scheduled day off on Saturday to rest up his still recovering hamstring, he should be back in the lineup tonight against the Bulls to open things up for Maxey once again.

This is the same Bulls team that really struggles against opposing guards and ranks 25th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage. That means Maxey looks like a good bet to go Over his made threes prop in this one.

Pick: Tyrese Maxey Over 1.5 made threes (-130)

Clint crashes the glass

The Detroit Pistons are still in the early stages of their development but they are showing some flashes lately, winning five of their last seven games and covering eight straight spreads. But one place they still struggle is on the glass, and that provides us a betting opportunity for tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Specifically, Clint Capela. The Hawks’ big man is averaging 12.1 rebounds per game this season, so it is a little surprising to see his rebounding total hit the board at 10.5 for this matchup.

The Pistons rank dead last in the NBA when it comes to rebounding percentage and 24th in opponent rebounds per game. With Capela hauling down at least 11 boards in three straight games and going Over this number seven times in his last 10 games he looks like a solid bet to continue that trend.

Pick: Clint Capela Over 10.5 rebounds (-135)

Stat-stuffing Sabonis

In the long run, I worry about Domantas Sabonis wasting away with the Sacramento Kings, but for now, he’s giving his all to his new team and he’ll look to put up that same effort when he and the Kings host the struggling New York Knicks.

Sabonis has done a lot for the Kings since coming over from the Indiana Pacers. He’s averaging 17.2 points and has really found a groove with De’Aaron Fox with their two-man game. But that’s not all he’s done.

The big man is also cleaning up the glass while also being a facilitator for his new teammates, averaging 12.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game over his first 10 games as a member of the Kings.

Sabonis will be a handful for a struggling Knicks team. Yes, the Knicks did just snap a seven-game losing streak, but they won’t have much time to celebrate the victory as they’ll have to play their second game in as many nights. On top of that, the Knicks rank 28th in both opponent rebounds and assists per game given up to opposing centers.

Sabonis’ assists + rebounding prop is set a 17.5 for this matchup. That’s a number he’s eclipsed eight times in 10 games as a King. We like him to keep that up against a scuffling and tired Knicks team.

Pick: Domantas Sabonis Over 17.5 assists + rebounds (-125)
