Jazz vs Lakers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

LeBron James returns to action tonight for the Lakers, and Los Angeles' stingy defense will limit the Jazz's production - save for Lauri Markkanen.

The Utah Jazz have won two of three, but the Lakers are 8-2 across their last 10, and they’ll look to earn a win at home in LeBron James’ season debut.

Utah’s recent wins and high-scoring performances are fool’s gold, and my Jazz vs Lakers predictions expect a comfortable win for LA in a low-scoring affair.

Here are my best free NBA picks for this Western Conference matchup at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, November 18.

Jazz vs Lakers prediction

Jazz vs Lakers best bet: Under 238 (-110)

The Utah Jazz have scored a league-best 141.3 points per game across their last three, but these high-scoring performances aren’t all they appear to be.

Utah posted 122 points in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks and 152 in a win over the league-worst Indiana Pacers. Utah’s 150 points against the Bulls came in double OT.

Utah's offense has been electric at home, but it’s floundered mightily on the road, and I’m targeting the cavernous split. No team has a greater gulf in scoring than the Jazz, who lead the Association in points per game at home (134) and rank dead last in points per game on the road (101.3).

The Los Angeles Lakers are tied for 10th-fewest points per game allowed at 114.4, and the team has given up just 106.7 points per game across its last three.

The Lakers have hit the Under in three straight and four of five, while the Jazz have hit the Under in four of their last five on the road. The total is inflated by Utah’s recent scoring binge and poor defense, but I’ll back the Lakers defense at home in this one.

Jazz vs Lakers same-game parlay

The Lakers should win comfortably, but Lauri Markkanen can still stuff the stat sheet. He's reached the Over on this line in three of six road games, including two 20-point blowout losses.

Los Angeles is 3-2 ATS at home, while Utah is 2-4 ATS on the road. The Jazz have been outscored by 94 points across their last five road games. Los Angeles is the better team, and it should get a boost from LeBron James’ return, even if he plays limited minutes.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Quiet Return of the King

This is a modest line for King James, but I don't expect him to see a ton of playing time in his first game of the season. Factor in a comfortable win for the Lakers, and you've got a recipe for him to hit the Under.
