Don’t blame the people in Toronto if they didn’t notice that the Raptors played one of their best opening-night games ever. They may be a little distracted with a little something called the World Series.

But the Raps looked great in a season-opening win over the Atlanta Hawks, and they’ll try to carry that momentum over into their home opener against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

My Bucks vs. Raptors predictions and NBA picks are banking on the home team riding the vibes of a city that will be flying high on Friday night.

Bucks vs Raptors prediction

Bucks vs Raptors best bet: Raptors -1.5 (-110)

People were sleeping on the Toronto Raptors heading into the season, but they made everyone take notice the other night.

Toronto looked impressive in its season-opening win against the Atlanta Hawks. The Raptors were in control the entire way, cruising to a 138-118 road win over the Hawks, in a game where they were 5.5-point underdogs.

Brandon Ingram looked like a great fit with his new team, going for 16 points and nine rebounds. Gradey Dick was strong off the bench, putting up 21 points and shooting 50% from 3-point range.

Most impressive was RJ Barrett, but more on him later.

This team also defends well, hustles, and plays at a high tempo. They are going to make some noise in a wide-open Eastern Conference.

That’s because teams like tonight’s opponent, the Milwaukee Bucks, have taken a step back. Yes, Giannis Antetokounmpo is still around and is still amazing, but there is more on his shoulders now than ever before.

He will be more than enough against a team like the Washington Wizards, that they crushed in their opener, but it will be harder to operate against a team like the Raptors.

Milwaukee will also be without starting point guard Kevin Porter Jr. for this matchup, which means Ryan Rollins gets the start. That could result in more turnovers against an aggressive Raptors defense.

Combine that with the vibes in Toronto right now, and the Bucks may just be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The crowd will be buzzing. Not only because it’s the Raptors home opener coming off an impressive win, but the Toronto Blue Jays will also play their first World Series game in 32 years, in the same city, on the same night.

The Raptors should win this one, so lay the small chalk.

Bucks vs Raptors same-game parlay

It looks like the Maple Mamba has taken his game to the next level.

Barrett put up 25 points on 12 shots in the win over the Hawks. His usage rate with Brandon Ingram was something to take note of, but he continued to contribute in all areas with eight rebounds and five assists. I don’t see any reason for him to slow down against the Bucks, and this is a good number for a guy who averaged 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game last season.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee's big offseason addition, Myles Turner, had a rocky start when it came to scoring. However, he still put in work on the glass, grabbing eight rebounds in his Bucks debut.

A rebounding prop of 5.5 is too low for a matchup where the Bucks will need to rely on Turner, and one that should be played at a fairly high pace.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Rollins roiled by Raptors

Ryan Rollins is expected to start for the injured Kevin Porter Jr. He has two turnovers off the bench in the Bucks' opener against the Wizards and now faces a much more aggressive Raptors defense that forced the Hawks into 15 turnovers.
