NASCAR's regular season is still a few weeks away as anticipation mounts for the Daytona 500 and the ensuing 2022 Cup Series.

Prior to this year, this race had been held annually at the Daytona International Speedway since 1979. It's a unique event that will culminate with a 150-lap main event on Sunday night.

Favorites to win the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum

Martin Truex Jr. (+600)

Truex, the 2021 Cup Series runner-up, enters as the co-favorite to win the Busch Light Clash. He won four races on the circuit in 2021. It's difficult to know just how this race will play out as it marks the first time a NASCAR event has been held at the indoor Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. For now, Truex is one of the betting favorites.

Denny Hamlin (+600)

Hamlin, who finished in third place in the 2021 Cup Series, has claimed victory at this event twice before (2014, 2016) when it was held at Daytona International Speedway. He's co-favorite alongside Truex to win this race outright.

Chase Elliott (+650)

Elliott's been a mainstay at the top of the Cup Series standings for several years, winning the whole thing in 2020 before finishing fourth last season.

Kyle Busch (+750)

Busch won the event in 2021, but it was under considerably different circumstances. Last year's race was moved to the Daytona Road Course and featured just 35 laps.

Joey Logano (+750)

Logano finished eighth in the Cup Series last year, which marked a four-year low for the 31-year-old. He won only once but was a fixture within the Top 10 most weeks.

Last year's champion, Kyle Larson is the only other driver with better than 10/1 odds at +800. The event is a bit of a mystery due to the change in format and location, so it appears to be anyone's race with the opening odds.

How to bet on NASCAR

The most popular way to bet on NASCAR is by simply picking the winner of a race, which is also referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, including betting on whether or not a driver will finish in the Top 3 or Top 10 of a race.

Another popular betting option is head-to-head matchup betting, where sportsbooks pair up two drivers and you choose who you think will finish better in the race, which is far easier than trying to select someone to win out of a field of approximately 40 drivers.
