It was a nailbiter at Rate Field on Saturday night, but the New York Yankees kept their win streak alive thanks to a three-run surge in the 11th inning against the Chicago White Sox.
Not only did the Pinstripes pick up their seventh straight win, but they also covered the spread for the seventh consecutive contest. In fact, New York has won by at least two runs in each of its last 11 victories, and I’m expecting more of the same against a Chicago team that sits last in the AL Central.
While Aaron Judge is batting just .218 with only five homers and 11 RBI this month, the Yanks have been getting it done by committee offensively. N.Y. ranks third in runs scored this month (153), third in slugging percentage (.479), and first in home runs (58).
It’s the top half of the lineup that’s been doing most of the damage, with Trent Grisham, Cody Bellinger, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. combining for 25 RBI in New York’s last seven games.
That trio has helped the Yankees outscore the White Sox 25-9 so far in the series, and I don’t see them slowing down in the finale.
