My Yankees vs Marlins best bet: Marlins moneyline (-105 at Caesars)
The New York Yankees suffered one of their worst losses of the season on Friday night, allowing six runs in the seventh and three more in the ninth in the 13-12 Miami Marlins win. They were then held to two hits in a 2-0 loss on Saturday.
Things don’t get better for New York on Sunday with Edward Cabrera set to start for the Marlins. Cabrera is 4-5 with a 3.35 ERA and 1.23 WHIP on the season, but he's been even better than that recently at home.
In his last five starts at LoanDepot Park, Cabrera has allowed just four runs in 31 2/3 innings for a 1.14 ERA. Overall, since May 25, he's posted a 2.11 ERA (14 ER in 59 2/3 IP).
Luis Gil will be making his season debut for the Yankees, but he could have a short leash after topping out at 75 pitches in his rehab starts.
The Marlins have been on fire since just before the All-Star break, going 11-4 since July 12. That should continue with a sweep of the Yankees on Sunday afternoon.
