The Miami Marlins opened their series with the New York Yankees in dramatic fashion with a walk-off 13-12 win over the Bronx Bombers.
Cody Bellinger has carried New York since Aaron Judge hit the shelf, and my Yankees vs. Marlins predictions expect Bellinger’s hot bat to continue today.
Yankees vs Marlins prediction
My Yankees vs Marlins best bet: Cody Bellinger Over 1.5 total bases (+130 at bet365)
New York Yankees slugger Cody Bellinger is a good bet to go Over 1.5 total bases this afternoon against the Miami Marlins.
The left-handed outfielder has been consistent, recording hits in nine of his last 10 games while blasting for 2+ total bases in five of those.
His .271 xBA against fastballs matches up well against Marlins rookie right-hander Eury Perez. Perez and his heater have allowed four earned runs over his last 28 innings. His fastball has been filthy (.171 xBA), but Bellinger has a .270 BABIP against righties, and he blasts fastballs.
Bellinger has carried this Yankees lineup since star slugger Aaron Judge hit the IL, and I like his total bases prop against Perez and the Marlins.
Yankees vs Marlins same-game parlay (SGP)
Bellinger has an edge over Perez, but the Marlins are coming off a crazy walk-off victory, and I like the way the rookie and this Marlins bullpen are throwing.
Perez enters Game 2 having allowed only four earned runs across his last 28 frames. Yankees starter Cam Schlittler posted electric stuff on the farm, but he’s served up three bombs and eight earned runs across 14 2/3 innings.
I expect Miami to extend its three-game winning streak at home today, but the past 10 meetings are 3-7 O/U, and I’m betting this trend continues today.
