Yankees vs Cardinals best bet: Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases (-125)
Aaron Judge hasn’t quite returned to the peak of his powers following an injury absence, but he sure appears to be getting close.
The New York Yankees slugger has homered in two of his past four games, headlined by a six total base performance in Saturday’s back-and-forth win.
Judge now draws an advantageous matchup against Miles Mikolas. His ERA is sitting just a touch below 5.0 on the season, and he’s allowed 21 homers through 117 innings. Suffice to say, a power hitter like Judge should be able to make noise.
Judge also excels against Mikolas’ pitch mix of sliders, fastballs, and sinkers at least 24% of the time vs. right-handed bats. New York’s captain has hit .292 against the slider, .337 against the fastball, and .417 against the sinker while combining for 20 homers.
There are a lot of arrows pointing up for Judge in this matchup. Don’t be surprised if he puts forth another big offensive showing.
Yankees vs Cardinals same-game parlay (SGP)
Giancarlo Stanton is red hot at the dish, driving in eight runs over his last eight games while generating an average exit velocity of 96.4 miles per hour spanning the last 25 at bats.
He's also nuking baseballs, and given Mikolas’ inability to limit power, this seems like a great spot for Stanton to build on his recent run.
For the St. Louis Cardinals, Alec Burleson stands out as a likely candidate to do some damage. He’s hitting .286 against righties on the season and has shown real power (.206 ISO, six homers) against Will Warren’s most used pitch, the fastball.
