The Chicago Cubs lead the NL Central on the back of one of the league’s highest-powered offenses.

My Royals vs. Cubs predictions expect them to be reliant on the bats again Monday, with Dansby Swanson a prime candidate to step up against lefty Noah Cameron. Let’s take a closer look at my July 21 MLB picks.

Royals vs Cubs prediction

My Royals vs Cubs best bet: Dansby Swanson Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (+100 at Caesars)

The Chicago Cubs are tied for the league lead in runs per game, and Dansby Swanson has played a big part, even more so when facing left-handed pitching. He's hitting .261 with a .206 ISO vs. lefties. Those numbers both rank him near the top of the team lead.

He's also tearing the cover off the ball against lefties right now. Swanson has posted an average exit velocity of 95.3 over his last 15 at-bats, leading the Cubs by close to three miles per hour. He's seeing the ball well and hammering left-handed pitching almost every time he steps up to the plate.

There’s more to like about Swanson than just his ability to hit lefties. He has cleared 1.5 hits + runs + RBI in seven of his last 10 home games, averaging 2.3 along the way.

He has also recorded multiple hits + runs + RBI in eight of the last 10 Cubs wins and 66% of victories on the season. With the Cubs being clear home favorites, it’s worth noting Swanson has consistently made noise in winning efforts.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Royals vs Cubs same-game parlay (SGP)

Dansby Swanson Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 total bases

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 total bases

Seiya Suzuki has feasted on left-handed pitching this season, hitting .280 with a .570 SLG% and ISO approaching .300. He's also been more productive in Chicago, recording multiple bases in 56% of home games compared to 45% on the road.

This Cubs bullpen has struggled of late, posting a 5.20 FIP in July. That’s problematic considering they are going with a bullpen game to begin the week. Bobby Witt Jr. is the most likely Royals player to capitalize.
