The Dodgers (75%) are set for an offensive explosion against Nick Lodolo, who ranks in the fourth percentile in xwOBA, while Tarik Skubal gives L.A. a clear advantage on the bump.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been more dominant than anybody against sub-.500 teams, posting a remarkable 55-23 record, so it's no surprise that they're massive 75% favorites over the Cincinnati Reds tonight.

With a massive starting pitching advantage, I'm backing Los Angeles to build on that success and win convincingly in my Reds vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB picks on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with first pitch slated for 10:10 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium.

Who will win Reds vs Dodgers today: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (57%)

For help understanding probabilities, see our odds calculator.

Tonight, the Los Angeles Dodgers have the biggest pitching advantage you're likely to find.

Tarik Skubal is consistently one of the league’s most dominant arms, and he enters in great form. None of today’s projected starters have posted a lower SIERA than Skubal (2.88) over the last 30 days.

The Cincinnati Reds will struggle to generate offense against him, while Nick Lodolo should bleed runs the other way.

His ERA sits above 5.00, and that number is unlikely to drop against the Dodgers, who rank second in xwOBA against southpaws.

Back LA on the RL to 59%.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Lodolo has allowed an exorbitant amount of power the past month, conceding 2.82 home runs per nine innings

Reds vs Dodgers Over/Under pick: Over 7.5 (55%)

The Dodgers will need to do the heavy lifting to push this game Over the total, and that shouldn’t be a problem.

Lodolo has gotten blasted by teams ranking Top-10 in xwOBA against lefties. His ERA sits at 6.43 over 10 such starts, and his xERA is even higher at 7.32.

If we isolate five matchups vs. Top-10 opponents in xwOBA and OPS, Lodolo’s ERA and xERA both sit above 7.85.

Skubal has only pitched more than six innings once with the Dodgers, so the Reds will likely get three innings to score against lesser relievers.

Play to 58%.

Reds vs Dodgers home run prediction: Teoscar Hernandez (20%)

Teoscar Hernandez historically hammers lefties, and that is shining through more and more lately.

Hernandez has hit .294 with a .235 ISO and .929 OPS against left-handed pitching over his past 30 games.

His ISOs against Lodolo’s three most-used pitches during that span: .353, .235, and .600.

Hernandez is really shining vs. Lodolo’s pitch mix, and the conditions are expected to provide better than a 20% boost to home runs tonight.

Don’t be surprised if Hernandez leaves the park for the second game in a row.
