Tyler Glasnow has been tossing heat this season, tallying a stellar 0.73 ERA with a 0.65 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 24 2-3 innings across four starts.

After a slow day of baseball yesterday, the MLB betting board has 15 games set for Friday's slate, which means plenty of options with our MLB prop bets.

We take a tried and true Covers favorite with one of our prop picks and also back one of the hottest teams in the majors as we bring you our best free MLB prop bet picks and predictions for Friday, April 23.

Today’s MLB props and picks

Oakland A's Team Total Over 4.5 (-125)

The Oakland A's are red-hot entering their three-game set in Baltimore, riding an 11-game winning streak, with the A's plating 6.73 runs per game during the streak, as opposed to the 2.38 runs per game they were averaging through their first eight contests.

The biggest jump has been when it comes to hitting for power. The A's ranked near the bottom of the majors with just 0.38 home runs per game through their first eight games of the season but have upped that to 2.0 dingers per game during their last 11.

Tonight the A's will take on the Orioles and starter Jorge Lopez, who is 1-2 with an 8.56 ERA and has surrendered five homers in 13 2-3 innings.

Lopez has been brutal as a starter his entire career and it's almost shocking that he hasn't made a permanent move to the bullpen. The righty has pitched to a 6.54 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP through 173 1-3 innings across 36 career starts. With the A's team total for tonight set at just 4.5, hammer the Over.

Nationals vs Mets First Five Innings Under 3.5 (+100)

It's "deGrom Day" again which means Mets ace Jacob deGrom is toeing the rubber and the Under on the first five innings total is basically an automatic play.

That prop has gone 3-0 this season thanks in large part to the two-time NL Cy Young winner's continued excellence, with deGrom pitching to a 0.45 ERA with a 0.70 WHIP and an incredible 35 strikeouts through 20 innings across three starts.

With Washington ranking 27th in the majors in scoring through the first five innings with 1.75 runs per game, we feel like the Nats batters will keep up their end of this bargain. We are a bit concerned with Washington pitcher Erick Fedde and his 5.56 ERA this year, but he has allowed just one run across each of his last two starts.

With the Mets ranking dead-last in the majors in scoring with 3.53 runs per game (1.79 through the first five innings) and second-last in home runs, we're riding with this tried-and-true prop pick again.

Blue Jays vs Rays First Five Innings Under 3.5 (+102)

Speaking of Mets pitchers, former Mets hurler Steven Matz has looked terrific with his new club, going 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP with the Toronto Blue Jays

Unfortunately for the Jays, they'll be facing Tampa Bay ace Tyler Glasnow, who has been even better than Matz. The towering right-hander has a 0.73 ERA with a 0.65 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 24 2-3 innings across four starts.

While the Rays have been solid at the plate this season, they struggle to generate runs at home, averaging 3.86 runs per game. And the Jays can't hit on the road, where they have an OPS of .626 and plate 3.33 runs per contest.

Factor in the pitcher-friendly confines at Tropicana Field and we're taking the Under on the first five innings.
