Kyle Schwarber has been abnormally quiet at the plate in recent weeks. Outside of his ridiculous four homer game, he hasn’t done much damage.

My Mets vs. Phillies predictions see that changing on Tuesday, with Schwarber’s power coming to light against Sean Manaea.

Let’s break it all down with my September 9 MLB picks.

Mets vs Phillies prediction

Mets vs Phillies best betKyle Schwarber Over 1.5 total bases (+120)

Kyle Schwarber has hit for insane power against pitchers of both handedness. His numbers – in terms of average and ISO – are even better when facing lefties like Sean Manaea.

Schwarber’s .245 average won’t blow you away but the .333 ISO certainly will. Of his 50 hits against lefties, 28 have gone for extra bases. When he catches pitchers, he really catches them.

The bad news is Schwarber’s in the middle of a healthy rut. He homered in just one of his last 17 games, which was the historic four-homer performance against the Braves. Otherwise, mostly crickets.

The good news is a matchup with Manaea could help him get back on track. Manaea has not pitched that well since returning to the rotation, earning one win through nine starts and posting a 5.60 ERA along the way.

Manaea mostly attacks opposing lefties with the fastball, throwing it 58% of the time. That should be music to the ears of Schwarber, who owns a mouthwatering .482 ISO against fastballs thrown by lefties this season.

Don’t be surprised if Schwarber really gets a hold of one in this game and clears this line with one swing of the bat.

Mets vs Phillies same-game parlay (SGP)

Bryce Harper owns a .375 average and .313 ISO against Manaea through 16 at bats.

He also hits well against the fastball (.333 average, .389 ISO) and the sweeper (.259 average, .259 ISO) and those two pitches account for 99% of what Manaea throws when facing left-handed bats.

Ranger Suarez usually doesn’t need much run support to help guide the Philadelphia Phillies to victory.

If Schwarber and Harper make noise at the plate, they have a great chance of winning.
