HR picks for July 8
Aaron Judge (+220 at DraftKings)
Aaron Judge continues to absolutely rake this season, hitting .360 with 33 home runs and 74 RBI.
No matter who is on the mound, Judge is doing damage. The slugger is off to a torrid start in July, already with three long balls while hitting .450.
The veteran just went deep in his last game on Sunday in the Subway Series against the New York Mets, and Judge has an impressive track record against tonight’s starting pitcher in Logan Gilbert of the Seattle Mariners.
While Gilbert isn’t exactly home-run prone, Judge is 4-for-13 lifetime off him with a pair of doubles.
Of Judge's 33 bombs, 22 are off right-handed hurlers, and he hit .364 last season versus Seattle with two home runs. Don’t be surprised if he takes Gilbert (or an M's reliever) yard here.
Eugenio Suarez (+295 at DraftKings)
Eugenio Suarez is having a monster year for the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks and could potentially be traded at the deadline if they decide to sell.
He’s already smacked 28 home runs while driving in 74 runs. Suarez is well on track for his fourth 30+ homer season in the last five years.
The D-Backs will face the in-form Nick Pivetta tonight, who has emerged as the ace of the San Diego Padres’ rotation. While he has held Suarez to a .214 average across 14 at-bats, two of his three hits are homers. Suarez has tagged righties in 2025, smacking 20 home runs and batting .271.
Suarez has left the yard twice in his last five contests and has nine bombs on the road this year. The veteran could keep it rolling and inch closer to No. 30 here.
Alec Burleson (+380 at DraftKings)
The St. Louis Cardinals have been one of the biggest surprises in baseball and possess a very good offense. Alec Burleson has certainly done his part in helping the Cards succeed at the dish.
The 26-year-old is hitting .290 with 11 home runs and 38 RBI. He just went deep on Saturday against the Chicago Cubs and also smacked six long balls in the month of June.
St. Louis faces the struggling Jake Irvin tonight, who has allowed 20 homers in only 18 starts for the Washington Nationals. Burleson happens to be 2-for-5 lifetime with a bomb off Irvin.
Five of his homers have come at home, and the Cards will host the Nats in this one.
Burleson is swinging it with authority and Irvin struggles to keep opponents in the ballpark. This feels like the perfect time for Burleson to hit No. 12 of the campaign.
