HR picks for July 18

Cal Raleigh (+245 at DraftKings)

How could we not take Cal Raleigh to go deep in his first game of the second half? After all, he was scorching hot before the festivities in Atlanta, and proceeded to win the Derby in exhilarating fashion.

Raleigh has the MLB lead in bombs by a quite a bit, sitting at 38 as we speak. The Mariners star had three long balls in his last six games before the break, and has gone deep five times already in the month of July.

Tonight is a matchup with the Houston Astros and left-hander Brandon Walter. While he’s never faced him before, Walter has allowed eight homers in only seven starts.

Raleigh is a switch hitter, but his power plays just as well against southpaws, smacking 16 of his long balls off left-handed hurlers. Some say the HR Derby can mess up your swing, but I’ll take Raleigh rolling into tonight’s content with boatloads of confidence.

George Springer (+330 at DraftKings)

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking like one of the best teams in the majors, and George Springer is definitely doing his part.

The veteran is batting .270 with 16 home runs and 53 RBI. He’s also hitting .311 in July alone with five bombs. The Jays are hoping to keep it going tonight as they face the winless Justin Verlander.

Springer has enjoyed himself in the past against the future Hall of Famer, as he’s 6-for-16 lifetime with a pair of long balls. Verlander has allowed 10 homers in 15 starts this season, and five of them have been surrendered to right-handed hitters.

You'd better believe Springer will be stepping into the box with confidence this evening.

Also, the majority of his power output comes against right-handed pitchers, with 11 home runs. Don’t be surprised if Springer takes Verlander deep in the series opener here.

Spencer Torkelson (+350 at DraftKings)

Spencer Torkelson’s power has been impressive this year, clubbing 21 homers already. Torkelson is a threat to go deep at any given moment, and he’ll be liking tonight’s matchup.

The Tigers face the Texas Rangers, who send Patrick Corbin to the mound. While it’s a small sample size, Torkelson is 2-for-5 lifetime against him with a long ball. Overall, he really swings it well versus lefties, too. Torkelson has nine home runs in just 90 at-bats against southpaws in 2025.

July has been a nice month for Torkelson as well, as he's already left the ballpark four times. Corbin does give up his fair share of homers, surrendering 14 in just 17 appearances this year. Torkelson has a great chance of smacking No. 22 here.
