The NL West heats up this weekend as the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers clash under the Friday night lights.
With just one game separating these two in the standings, this rivalry matchup carries serious weight.
It’s Giants vs. Dodgers predictions time — and with both teams sending their aces to the hill, my MLB picks are locking in on the Under for June 13.
Giants vs Dodgers prediction
My Giants vs Dodgers best bet: Under 7.5 (-115 at bet365)
Logan Webb vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto. If you’re a fan of pitching, what more could you ask for?
Webb is experiencing career-best results in 2025, notching a 2.58 ERA and 2.13 FIP. He avoids free passes (4.8% walk rate) and has found a new penchant for the punchout (28.5% strikeout rate).
The San Francisco Giants' ace has been able to avoid hard contact (86th percentile barrel rate) and force batters into soft groundouts (95th percentile groundball rate).
On the flip side, Yamamoto has been one of the MLB’s most effective hurlers with a 2.20 ERA.
His second year in the States has gone superb, in part because he limits hard contact (84th percentile barrel rate) and generates a 95th percentile groundball rate. Sound familiar?
The Los Angeles Dodgers have played to the Over in general this season at 40-29 O/U, but it has been a different story when Yamamoto is on the mound (4-9 O/U).
San Francisco, meanwhile, has cashed the Under in three straight games that Webb has started.
Neither lineup is lighting the world on fire entering this series. LA ranks 20th in wRC+ (93) against right-handed pitching since June 1, while San Francisco isn’t far ahead with a 94 wRC+ (18th).
Excluding games at Coors Field (for obvious reasons), the Giants are 2-11 O/U in their last 13 road games.
The Giants are trotting out lineups that look far from imposing now that Matt Chapman is on the IL, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they continue their trend toward the Under (18 in their last 24 games).
Pitching in Chavez Ravine is never an easy task for a visiting pitcher, but Webb has managed a respectable 3.89 ERA across 41 ⅔ IP at Dodger Stadium in his career.
L.A.’s bullpen will be fully rested after an off day on Thursday, and San Francisco has been effective in relief in June with a 2.97 ERA.
Giants vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)
The Giants have had a hard time playing at Dodger Stadium, coming away victorious in just one of their last nine trips there.
The Dodgers are a tough out at home (23-11) and have their ace on the mound, so they stand a good chance of coming away victorious against an overvalued Giants team that has won seven of its last eight games.
The final leg of this SGP pertaining to Heliot Ramos may seem counterintuitive, but it’s what leads to such great odds. Allow me to explain.
Yamamoto is nearly unhittable against lefties (career .177 BA) but is human against righties (.245 BA). Ramos has reverse splits with a 139 wRC+ against RHP, has been making great at-bats lately, and is averaging 2.4 hits, runs, and RBIs across his last 10 games.
