After snapping a three-game slide with a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Colorado Rockies are beginning to find some form. They’ve now won five of their last eight, and will return to the hitter’s paradise which they call home on Tuesday to face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
However, my Dodgers vs. Rockies predictions explain why L.A. stands a chance to cover a large spread despite one of its weakest pitchers getting set to work the bulk of the innings.
Without further ado, let’s hand out some MLB picks for Tuesday, June 24.
Dodgers vs Rockies prediction
My Dodgers vs Rockies best bet: Dodgers -2.5 (-120 at BET99)
⚾ Pick Analysis
The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again in a tough position, facing the reality that they’ll have to operate another bullpen game with so many of their starting pitchers on the shelf. Justin Wrobleski looks poised to take most of the innings as the bulk reliever after resting for five days following a long appearance last Wednesday, and that’s generally been a bad thing for L.A.
But Wrobleski has pitched to plenty of ground balls, and it's always a good idea to keep the ball out of the air at Coors Field. His strong walk and barrel rates should further put an emphasis on ground balls in Denver.
The Dodgers’ infield has risen to 13th in Outs Above Average, and that’s certainly going to be beneficial here. The Colorado Rockies own a weak .131 Isolated Power versus lefties with a league-worst 59 wRC+ in the platoon split.
German Marquez, meanwhile, continues to struggle overall but has maintained a solid 4.91 ERA at home, relative to his 6.90 road ERA. This is a trend we’ve seen develop over the years for the veteran righty, but the unfortunate news is that the list of things he does well is quite short.
Marquez will throw a ton of strikes, and while he’s limited barrels and walks quite well, he’s still managed to get rocked for a .295 xBA in his 73 2/3 innings. L.A. also owns the league’s best OPS against fly ball pitchers like Marquez, and owns a menacing .212 ISO in the last two weeks.

🚀 SGP Analysis
In Marquez's last outing against the Dodgers — which ended before the first inning was completed — he walked just one and was torched for six hits and two homers. He’s kept opponents Under 1.5 walks in three of his last five, and he should have a chance to do that again here with L.A. setting up brilliantly in this matchup for some big blows.
Teoscar Hernandez has been on fire with five hits, including a homer, in his last five games. He’s hitting .380 with 39 total bases in 83 at-bats this season against fly-ball arms.
