Cubs vs Brewers Game 2 predictions
Who will win Cubs vs Brewers Game 2
The Brewers have won 79 of their last 124 games, went 52-29 at home during the regular season, and steamrolled the Cubs in Game 1. This series heads to Chicago with the Cubs down 0-2.
Cubs vs Brewers best bet
Over 8 (-105)
The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers put 12 runs on the board in Game 1, and I’m expecting more crooked numbers on the scoreboard this evening.
Milwaukee finished ninth in wOBA against lefties while posting the fourth-lowest strikeout percentage against lefties during the regular season, and Chicago starter Shota Imanaga struggled away from Wrigley Field down the stretch with a 6.06 ERA across his final six road starts.
Imanaga will also be facing the Brew Crew for the fourth time this season, and he’s allowed 12 runs across just 15 frames over his three starts at American Family Field.
I’m anticipating the Cubs chipping in, too. Chicago finished eighth in wOBA and fifth in ISO against righties during the regular season, and the North Siders also ranked fifth in both overall across 25 September games.
Milwaukee is expected to lean on righty Quinn Priester after lefty Aaron Ashby opens. While Priester was excellent in his first full Big League season, he’s also making his playoff debut, and the Chicago lineup has done some damage against him.
The Cubbies have scored 10 runs across just 14 1/3 innings over three appearances against the righty this season.
Cubs vs Brewers Game 2 same-game parlay (SGP)
The Brewers' acquisition of Andrew Vaughn midseason gave their lineup a massive boost, and he’s posted an elite .460 wOBA against left-handed pitchers since. He hits in the heart of the lineup and went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs in Game 1.
Chicago stars Kyle Tucker and Michael Busch both tee off on right-handed pitchers with respective .364 and .385 wOBAs. Busch has also homered twice this postseason, while Tucker has shown signs despite his 3-for-14 run at the dish.
Cubs vs Brewers SGP
- Andrew Vaughn Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI
- Kyle Tucker Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI
- Michael Busch Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI
Cubs vs Brewers home run pick for Game 2
Pete Crow-Armstrong (+625)
Chicago center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong has quietly gone 4-for-8 the past two games, and he homered off Priester during the regular season. Of course, PCA also posted a high-end .252 ISO and hit 24 of his 31 home runs against righties this year.
