Juan Soto lit up the Braves last night with two home runs, carrying the Mets to a crucial win and snapping their recent skid. Now, as this NL East rivalry wraps up, New York looks to salvage a series split.
But slowing down Soto is easier said than done — and that’s a key factor in our Braves vs. Mets predictions. With Soto locked in at the plate, tonight’s matchup has serious implications for both the side and total

My Braves vs Mets best bet: Juan Soto Over 1.5 total bases (+126 at Caesars)
⚾ Pick Analysis
Boy, did the New York Mets need that last night.
Juan Soto sent two balls flying over the wall to lead his team to a 7-3 win over the Atlanta Braves. It was just the Mets’ second win over their last 11 games.
But even though the Mets have been slumping, you can’t blame Soto. New York’s star slugger is having himself a month to remember.
Soto is hitting .325 with a 1.238 OPS with 10 home runs, 18 RBIs, 22 runs scored, and 23 walks over 23 games in June. He became the first Met in team history to hit 10 dingers, score 20 times and draw 20 walks in a calendar month.
He now ranks in the 100th percentile in expected batting average, expected slugging percentage, and walk rate.
Basically, he looks worth every penny at this point.
Tonight, he’ll be Grant Holmes' problem. The 29-year-old right-hander has shown flashes of potential this season but enters this game with a 4.12 expected ERA. That ranks in the 40th percentile among MLB pitchers.
Holmes relies mostly on his fastball and slider, but that predictability has meant hitters have teed off on him. The right-hander ranks in the 18th percentile in average exit velocity, the seventh in barrel rate, and the 27th in hard-hit percentage.
Not exactly stats you want to struggle in against Soto.
Soto has topped 1.5 total bases 14 times in his last 25 games. At this price, in this matchup, he looks like a great value to go Over once again tonight.

🚀 SGP Analysis
But Soto might not be the only one doing some hitting. With a total of 9.0 sportsbooks expect some scoring from both sides.
So, give me Marcell Ozuna to drive in a run tonight as well. The Braves slugger has always been a streaky hitter and while he’s in a bit of a slump, a matchup against Mets’ starter Griffin Canning might be just what he needs to bust out of it.
Ozuna is 4-for-5 with two home runs in his career vs. Canning. That’s good for a .622 xBA and a 1.799 OPS. Over 0.5 RBIs for Ozuna here.
One of the guys Ozuna could drive in is Ronald Acuna Jr. The Braves star has been one of the hottest players in baseball since his return from injury, hitting .383 with a 1.182 OPS, nine home runs and 18 RBIs.
He faces a guy in Canning who ranks in the 27th percentile in xERA and the 32nd in xBA. Give me Over 1.5 total bases for Acuna as well. Something he’s done in 18 of his 30 games.
