We have a whole new series in the ALCS, as the Toronto Blue Jays have won two in a row against the Seattle Mariners to even things up heading into tonight’s Game 5.
My Blue Jays vs. Mariners home run props and MLB picks for October 17 are predicting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to go yard again this evening, while Cal Raleigh’s dominance against Kevin Gausman will continue.
Blue Jays home run pick
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+400 at BetMGM)
While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. didn’t do a whole lot in Games 1 and 2 of the ALCS, he’s been brilliant overall in the playoffs. The slugger is batting .455 in the postseason with five home runs.
He’s left the ballpark in back-to-back games, and Guerrero Jr. has banged out six hits during that span. The Jays’ franchise star is on fire.
While he’s only 1-for-7 lifetime against M’s starter Bryce Miller, Vladdy cannot be stopped right now. He’s swinging it with the utmost confidence, and the sample size against Miller isn’t big by any means.
Guerrero Jr. is a power force, and he’ll make some more noise in Game 5.
Mariners home run pick
Cal Raleigh (+260 at BetMGM)
As we know, Cal Raleigh led the big leagues in homers with 60 during the regular season. He’s carried that power into the playoffs, cracking three round-trippers so far. That includes two bombs in the ALCS.
Raleigh went deep in Game 3, and I’m eyeing him to do so in a crucial Game 5.
Raleigh is 8-for-17 lifetime against Kevin Gausman with four home runs. He hit 38 of his regular-season bombs off right-handed pitchers, and he also put 28 in the bleachers at T-Mobile Park.
Seattle cannot afford to lose another here, and they will need The Big Dumper to step up and deliver.
