The Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Guardians meet this evening in the second of a three-game set.
That American League matchup headlines my favorite MLB picks for today in the "no run first inning" and "yes run first inning" markets.
Here are my best NRFI and YRFI bets for Tuesday, May 12.

Angels at Guardians: NRFI (-110)
The Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Guardians played to a scoreless first inning in the series opener, and a similar start offers great value today.
Walbert Urena takes the mound for the Angels and hasn’t allowed a first-inning run in four outings this season. Cleveland, meanwhile, has failed to score in the opening frame in three straight games.
For the Guardians, Slade Cecconi gets the start. Despite a 6.15 ERA, he delivered a clean first inning in his last outing and draws an Angels lineup that has struggled out of the gates, going scoreless in the first inning in five consecutive contests.

Nationals at Reds: YRFI (-130)
Tonight's pitching matchup between the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds screams runs.
Miles Mikolas and Brady Singer both have poor ERAs, and Singer has struggled to come out of the first unscathed.
Singer owns a 3-5 NRFI/YRFI record, and the right-hander has given up a first-inning run in four straight appearances. The Nats are also hitting .315 in the first inning and have scored in the opening frame in two of their last three games.

Rays at Blue Jays: NRFI (-113)
It's an all-lefty matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays tonight as Shane McClanahan toes the rubber opposite of Patrick Corbin.
McClanahan has allowed a run in the first just once this season, and he's tossed three scoreless first innings in a row. As for Corbin, the veteran southpaw boasts five straight scoreless innings.
Both teams are also hitting around .230 in the opening frame. Corbin faced the Rays in his last outing and allowed just two runs, both coming in the fourth inning. McClanahan countered for Tampa in that matchup and blanked the Jays over 5 2/3 IP.

- NRFI/YRFI picks: 6-9, +1.66 units
What is a NRFI bet?
NRFI (No Run First Inning) and YRFI (Yes Run First Inning) bets add a thrilling twist to the start of an MLB game. A NRFI bet is a wager that no runs will be scored in the first inning. You're betting that the starting pitchers for both teams will get through the first inning without allowing any runs, whether by striking out batters, inducing ground balls, or through solid defensive play.
A YRFI bet is the exact opposite. You're betting that at least one run will be scored in the first inning. In this case, you’re hoping for an early offensive burst such as a leadoff walk, a timely hit, or even a home run.
NRFI and YRFI bets add excitement to the early part of a game and offer immediate gratification for bettors looking for a quick resolution.
